For most of us, we don't have to look any further than our own garages for our definition of the term 'Hot Rod' ... but according to this old dictionary, you must be luckier than most of us ...

Hope you guys can straighten this out for me. For five decades that I know of guys have been trying to tell the rest of us what a hot rod is, so did life magazine, so did the readership of Hot Rod, Street Rod, et al. I'm making pop corn. Should be interesting.

Nothing wrong with a GTO I have a 67 and love it. BUT when I think of hot rods I think As 32s 33-34 39-40 etc

Here's the Henderson Roadster in 1944 winning the famous race against the horse, which was arranged by hot rod pioneer Ak Miller.

  21. I'll echo that comment on the Orr's roadster. Look at how badass that thing looks on the street in front of their shop!

  22. But let's be honest, there's 100's of iconic cars that define the term "hot rod" perfectly. Maybe the real question should be "who's picture would show up next to the term "hot rodder"....

    Maybe easier to pin down.

The Doane Spencer Roadster, or the Pierson Bros. Coupe stuff like that, But NOT a purple GTO. I got the Navarro post, he was a very defining Hot Rodder, so was Vick Edelbrock, and Mickey Thompson. Pretty hard question for me as the first "real" Hot Rod I ever saw was a full fendered '29 Roadster. To me that's the beginning I've been chasing ever since.

Mark, I have watched that video about 100 times and I just love to hear that guy say"Ok that went ok" right after he tagged the wall. Too funny but I know what he means.
