Amazing work guys! I love building models....not as skilled as you boys, but enjoy it none the less. Where on earth did you get the pie crust slicks? Are they in a kit somewhere? I am building a model of my truck, and would be awesome to find those.

The diorama buildings and scenery and the photography is fantastic but all of the cars are purchased diecasts. This web site has been passed around the net for many months. Still, really amazing to look at though.

They came in several OLD kits, but there are brand new, excellent pie crust slicks in the latest release of the AMT '62 Pontiac.

I posted this last week in my own sunday thred ( didnt see the one already started)...

I've desided to recreate the famous Gypsy Rose 64 impala in 1/24 scale.

The Gypsy Rose was in the Chico and the man credits and was unbeatable on the show floor, so much so it was severly vandalised to keep it from competeing. It was recreated by a member of the Imperials and is on display at shows and a few museums i think.

I need your 2 cents in the paint department. Any ideas you have or experiance would be helpfull. I've done some paint fades and detail so i have a good idea how i'll do it, but how would you do it?

No help from me, but HAMB member mikes51 built this incredible version of Jerry DeVito's famous "The Maze". Maybe he can help.

I'd find someone to make decals for it.

    Awesome lineup this Sunday, guys.

Shane, your Hollish Bros. build will prove legendary before it’s all over. People are just cottoning on to how exceptional this build is!

Zed, another amazing panel paint job with some cool designs on the roof.

And Lyle, your TRaK ’40 coupe, well… you should post some more shots from other angles. It’s a stunner.

Slim Louis, I always look forward to Model Car Sundays in the hopes you’ll post some of your fabulous race cars. I wasn’t disappointed!

And the People’s Choice build at Santa Clara was indeed by John Teresi. It’s just one of a whole series of insanely conceived and executed models he showed, including an incredible rendition of his father’s V8 powered drag bike and an immacualate 1/25th scale replica of the Garlits Jocko-bodied streamliner.

Finally, Marty, the Dauphine gasser is a certified knockout. The basic idea is too cool and the result even better. Great way to kick off the evening.

    Thank you!:)

  17. I built this 40 Ford two door back in the 1960s, it's been sitting around
ever since. Not very complicated......made the red stripes on the
seats with some of that vinyl stripping you use to make lanyards
    from at boy scout camp.

    the AMT 41 Plym kit.

  20. Said I'd finish this one when I got a round tuit....but haven't done it
    yet. Maybe I should start a procastinator's club.....tomorrow.

    Thanks you very guys !

Chris, that F-100 is sick ! I love your style so much !!! can't wait to see more of your stuff

The 64 for Impala was the second gypsy rose , the one that was vandalized was a Tre , the paint was different . Both car will be hard to reproduce, i believe the good idea is too make the flowers as decals with a printer on special "paper" ;)

  22. ZED,you are the go to guy for paint like that, without doubt the Larry Watson of the scale model world and the first name that popped into my mind when asked 'how to' with paint.

I kinda suck at the paint, I like the cutting filling and scratch building. Haven't done much in a loooooooooong time so here is some older stuff........

AMT 40 coupe custom, still a long way to go, geez its hard to chop a 40 and have it look good. The wndscreen is chopped less than the side and moved a little way up into the roof, rear windows are stock height with a radical lean forward. Side windows are next, they need to be taller and shaped properly. Then I need to scribe the door lines and replace the drip rail.

    And....
Here we have two rail builds, the almost finished one is the 22JR Tony Nancy kit and the other is put together from spare parts and scratch built.
The body is a composite of the Revell 32 and the AMT 32 body's (I had bits of both laying around), chassis is a brass replica of a Kellison chassis.

And last,a slot car dragster. Used the old (AMT) no make that the old Monogram 32 body/guards and hood and the motor from a T/F rail. Everything else is scratch built, brass tube chassis and roll cage, plastic card interior, fully plumbed motor and headers made from solder and aluminiun tube. It won NSW State Titles in its class running 0.01 over the minimum break out, it also won 'Best in show'.

  23. The Hollish Bros car is awesome, I know how hard it is to scratch build accurately in that scale. Keeping everything scale is hard, you have done exceptionally well and its easily the best build posted this week.
