  2. X2, Red is dead!

Black with a trim ring, spider cap and some subtle pinstriping.

Here are a few photos of the first and last 54 Chevys I owned long ago (I had a total of six). This shot is my high school car in 1966:

And here’s a sequence of shots of number 6 (my last) in the 70’s. Purchased from the original owner in mint condition, I swapped in a 283/T10 4 speed, 4.11 57 Chevy rear end, 12v electrics, etc. As shown, it went through a variety of configurations in the years I owned it:

This was my favorite rendition. With a 30-30 cam, solid lifters and Walker turbo mufflers, it sounded great and accelerated like a rocket. With the spotlights, skirts, accessory stainless trim and a pair of baby seats in back it was a genuine sleeper and surprised quite a few 55-57 Chevys.

Front end is rear steer nova/camro stepped 6" an narrowed 3". No bags!! 33 teeth in the grill, now I might have to mess with the pontiac trim after the chop roof is way longer now.

I got this from a fellow Hamber in Middle TN. It made me start having flashbacks to the "little books".Real convertible and a real Carson top.

  15. Best.....Thread.....Ever! Just got me a 50 Styline deluxe. Just started tearing it apart and with the amount of work I'm putting into this I will never sell this car once it's done.

I finally get to play with the cool kids. Just picked this up today, gonna get some better pictures tomorrow but heres one I snapped with my cell.

54 Bel Air 2 door, car had a paint job done about 20 years ago, it's got 2 spots of rust in the rear quarters, other than that the car is solid, even had it on a hoist to inspect underneath.

Guy lowered it some, got a 235/Powerglide in it, engine has got Offy 2x1 intake with dual rochesters, fenton split manifold with dual exhaust, offy valve cover. Pretty much everything works on it, even the wipers, well as well as they ever worked. Radio doesn't work and the fuel gauge is sketchy, other than that everything works. It's got fender skirts with it, not sure if I want to run them or not, it comes with whats left of a parts car which is a frame with drivetrain, and the front part of the car, they cut off the body at the dash back and looks like they made a sprayer out of it. But it's got the grill on it good, a good hood that will probably end up louvered, and a good fender if i ever need a spare.

I'll get better pictures tomorrow as it's dark here now.

Nice looking ride, my favorite 54 body style. Power windows and seat, that has to be incredibly rare. Dig the engine goodies. What are your plans for the car?
