  4. "Driving simulators" from the place that I used to manage in Illinois.

    My boss bought all of these from a high school that had stored them since forever, and he took off all of the woodgrain steering wheels and the A-100 van seats that were in mint condition...

    We dealt mainly with 60's & 70's Chrysler products, but every now & then we'd get in a cool old DeSoto or Imperial.

  11. Yep! They painted the engines as an assembly before they installed them in the cars & trucks. I never knew that either until a few years ago. At least on Mopars, they'd install the exhaust manifolds, the battery ground cable and the small bypass hose in between the intake manifold and water pump, and then they'd paint the whole thing (less than perfectly, many times!). But like you said, the first couple of times that you'd run the car, the heat would bake the paint off of the exhaust manifolds.
