History 64/65 Comets old drag cars lets see pictures

anyone know the approximate delivery dates of the 20 original 1964 A/FX Comets and who got them?

 

Steve;trust me,I was NOT trying to put the Comet on the bumper! The clutch guy said,go out and make a pass,it will blow the tires off but we just need to seat the disc!It DID NOT spin the tires!!!I put a McLeod soft-lok clutch and 2.96-1st gear Jerico in the Comet,what a difference!The link to the photos is mikemorganphotography ,look for Irwindale pictures,2-25-2010. Cam across this a while back, sorry if its already been posted. Outside of the Hairy Canary and susposedly shot at ATCO, I have no info on it.

 

65deluxe;I think that may be one of two 64 Comets that are being rebuilt.I saw a thread with two 64s with similar hood scoops.I don't remember if it was on here or cometcentral. ROY.

 

WICKEDJOHN;I have never seen that picture of the McCoy Mercury in C/G trim,clean looking car! I can not believe all the great pictures everyone is digging up. ROY.

 

was from a car lot in maplewood nj henkel auto sales (not sure of spelling) run by dad and 2 sons they had a 55 chevy they raced frist then put that motor in the comet and pulled the ford motor thats why you see a bowtie on the side

Good luck, Roy! Ernie's green Fairlane's stuck in my shop, almost ready, but it did not make the March Meet cut-off. We think we'll make it up to Vegas, so keep an eye out for another bumper dragger. Man, you guys are a hard act for us greenhorns to follow!!

 

thanks, car is coming along great just finished one n sold it, to make room and fund another, i am going for wheel stander/exibition on this one, hope to race it and drive it on the street too haha, doing some body work now, then on to the fuel injection.
