It's Saturday night and you're at home on the H.A.M.B. Where would you have been when you still had a life? I would've been sitting in the back row of Lorenzo's Drive-in, watching the car hops and looking for a race.
I'd be having a real meaningful relationship with my girlfriend in the back of my 55 chevy with a six-pack on the floor. Lippy
Still kickin the shit out of young punks, thats what I was doing before I logged on.And probably in the back seat with someone your moms age!
On a Saturday night, at the drive-it-in movie, getting horizontal with anything I could con in to it. (female, of course)
45 years ago I would be at Fontana or the Beach seeing real dragsters, comp coupes, altereds etc. Tonight, as soon as I post this I will be heading out to the garage to get my outfit ready for the El Mirage season. Sorry to hear you now don't have a life.
This afternoon my Great Pyrenees ate a sock. Off we went to the vet. Gave him some meds to help it reappear. I'm sitting here watching him to make sure he doesn't puke the meds up. If the sock doesn't show up by morning, it may be surgery for him. What a way to spend a Saturday night!! And, no, if the sock does reappear, I will not wash it. I'll throw it out. Of course, I could always sell it on eBay. Someone will buy it!!
Hum,,,That was the time before computers,,I was doing the same thing then that I do now,,foolin' around with hot rods! HRP
This time of year around here, the race tracks and drive in theaters were closed, so we'd have been cruising from town to town, and hitting the hot spots like local dances, skating rinks, Eat-n-Park, or the Cadet to pick up some street race action, or some girls. Or we'd drive to Ohio where we could buy beer, and meet some "exotic" girls.
Sorry for your loss, mine passed two years also but only made to 82, but not sure she remembers the last two years... sad thing.
Well, ijust got in from spending the evening eating Irish food and listening to Celtic bands in honor of St. Patrick's day. A quick HAMB check, then out to the barn to feed the animals. Then a bit of work trying to figure out my new digital SLR camera and how to use my old Nikon lenses-probably hit bed about 12:30 as usual. But the, I am only 61 so you'd better ask so older dudes.
So what did they give him? Something like apomorphine to make him through it up or laxatives like lactulose/cisaprde to make it slide on through? A big dog like a GP ought to be able to pass a sock-fingers crossed for you. My most interesting ingestion was a young woman who called and claimed her cat had eaten her G-string. We waited quite a while-never did find it-I wonder where she'd really left it.
In the Summer Saturday nights are spent at the gut....still. This time of year before the ionternet I would have been right here just bored with no computer. I don't do much in the winter...probably should hibernate. I would if I could. Does 45 = old fart? I guess it depends on the average age on this site kind of like grading on a curve.
I would be out in the shop busting my ass to get the drag car ready for opening day. Then after opening day I would be out there every night fixing what ever broke at the track or working on a buddy's car. Frank
