Features Fenderless Hot rod Trucks, Need to see them

I found this neat photo of mine on the web...........Littleman........HotRods should be fast !...otherwise its a StreetRod, and that's only my opinion.....Dave

 

Here is mine, now sporting a little striping and some hurst cheater slicks out back. Personally I don't really like the real short bobbed beds. There are some steller fenderless trucks on this thread.

 

yours looks real good. That style of truck take some doing to look "right", and yours does. Looks like 40 or so 3/4 ton hood and grill.

 

Here are a few shots of a friend of ours 32 Ford from Az. This truck pretty much hits it on the head for me. It is a very clean well thought out build. This is his daily driver and the truck gets awesome mpg. He uses the teardrop all the time for camping and vacationing. The pics are from the Street Rodder feature done on the truck. The pics do not show it but the truck has a great looking hood. I will see if I can dig up a pic with the hood on.

Looks like you nailed it for me. I just found a 41 or 46 Chevy truck behind a barn in the country last fall. Waiting for spring to go try and buy it. Looks like I found my inspiration!

fenderless, "bobber," rudy style trucks, seem to cause large uproars and endless debates on (for lack of a better word) correctness....

me I am 'ok' with em...only if extra, extra, extra, attention is given to proportion and stance

Heres mine. Its almost done. Should be ready in a month or so. Its a 42 Chevy cab, homade bed and frame.Its got a 389 pontiac.

Here's an older shot of mine.
Channeled 5", chopped 4", and the wide bed was shortened 13" if I remember correctly. The rear axle is pushed forward a couple inches from stock.
Bed length really depends on chop, channel, etc. If I did it again I'd go a couple inches longer.

Lots of cool trucks! I think they are the best thing for those of us who afford/find a coupe or roadster to tinker with. I have a 37 IHC (well, it started off that way- it's more like a bitsa truck right now) that I'm bouncing all over the map with. When I get my camera fixed, I'll post some pix.

For my eye....

Trucks should have more or less the proportions of 3 boxes....pretty much dictated by cab length

Bed lenght... cab length.... and length from cowl front to grille front should be real close....

It gives a fun....hotroddy,....less work truck....look.

I must say, I've never been a fan of either the '38/'39 grilles nor the E&J's yet together as on this bobber pu they seem to work really well.
