I saw the Kentucky Colonel Car at the Mecum Auction in Indy last year, I agree they ruined a survivor car!, should have left it alone! they moved the engine foward to original location, replaced the recessed firewall with a stock replacement, added the AWB fiberglass stock dashboard, installed S/S seats, door panels, headliner. repainted, relettered, the whole car, and a few other things i probably forgot, talked to the owners wife during the auction, she claimed he purchased the car, had it for a short while, then tried to sell it, (didn't say asking price) could'nt move it, so he figured it was too rough for the money, had it redone, guess what? was a NO SALE at 100K at the Indy Auction! LOL he still can't sell it! if he's looking for the 700K + some of the factory AWB car sold for, he gonna have it awhile longer! IMO! Marty
You know, if that's true of The Kentuckey Colonel 1965 AWB being messed with......than that breaks my heart and the car's obviously in the wrong hands. I had been really wanting to see that car up close for several years now but if it's been changed and possibly "restored", I now have ZERO interest in even seeing it now. That car was an extremely rare survivor of the Match Bash era and should have been left alone.
Unfortuneatly it's true, when I saw that the car was going to be at the auction, it was one of the cars i really wanted to check out while there, I was really shocked to see what had been done to the car, what a shame! they F"d the car up! was my first reaction, and a few other choice words! here's a couple pics of it from Indy, compare to magazine articles or old photos you may have
Pontiac 406 and St Louis Gasser you are absolutely correct! It is a crime what the current owners have done to the Ky Colonel! I grew up watching the Colonel race locally and knew some of the folks who built the car, very sad!
Looking at that pic made my head hurt! Had to check the product decals to make sure something from 1975 wasn't coming back to haunt me.
More great stuff 35!I did find out the car is being restored for Reggie Jackson, thats the rumor anyway.
Thanks for the order... and here's another photo - obviously of a carb car. This is the first die cast "generic sample" we received to critique. Hopefully the race day painted samples arrive in a few weeks.
Anyone have any pictures on the Slaton Shaker car that was built and run by Bob Fulp out of southeast Florida? Joel
Hi, Anyone have good color pictures of the dodge 1965 AF/X HEMI a GO-GO car? My plan is to borrow some of its graphics. Thanks!
Awesome! Do you have any high resolution pics (large) of that car? Could you email me them... Is it this one Jim Kramer owns?? Thanks!

Great pictures. I never saw him light one of his stogies ... don't think he ever lit the 'em, just chewed on 'em. Joel
