Man that is just so cool to see those old catalogs from all those great old companies.

I have the old car magazines from 1957 on up and many day's just sit and look at them all over again.

Life just seemed so much easier then and care free.

Thanks for sharing the memories. Jimbo

Anybody have a Pat Warren catalog, or individual catalog pages showing the quickchanges?

  10. Great stuff. Does anyone have info on this 48 and earlier flathead angle drive for a Vertex mag in a catalog? Manufacturer, picture, price, year, etc.?? I have lots of early catalogs but can't find ANY mention of this drive in one. Furthermore, many speculations on who made it, but nothing concrete. Vertex, Barker, Wico? What say you, old paper collectors and flathead nuts?
    Thanks in advance.
    D.

I really appreciate the posts on old speed equipment catalogs as that's how I got my foot in the door of this wonderful business. Every year after a new catalog came back from the printer, it was my job to file five copies and take the rest of the previous year's issues to the dump. Most of the catalogs from the mid sixties on were crash and burn projects to meet SEMA show deadlines. Too, these catalogs were produced without computers, no photo shop or digital cameras.

  25. Thanks Wing, but as stated, NO ONE has been able to come up with an ad in a catalog displaying this set up for sale. Anybody have an early Vertex catalog that may have it? I have looked through a few Vertex cats with no luck. The hunt is still on. I now CHALLENGE
someone to find it in a catalog!!!Ha!! No one can turn down a challenge!
    Thanks, D.

Weren't the eariest versions of these units brought in to the US from Europe by G.I.'s returning from WWII?

  27. Dunno. Definitely could be. Lots of theories, no ads.

I know that there is the possibility that NONE OF YOU have this one OR have ever SEEN one of these RARE catalogs (price sheets).

When I purchased the 260 Cobra from Shelby in 1964, they gave this price list to me, anticipating future equipment sales.

The prices inside are unbelieveable, compared to today's prices!!!----Don:D:D
