Man, I would think the police are locked and loaded (with ticket books that is). If they are gonna write a $500 ticket for a rolling right turn on a red light, imagine what exibition speeding will cost!!! I would think the city would encourage it...they are broke and really really need the money!!!

To anyone with nice paint and chrome coming tomorrow from north of the Newhall Pass watch out for dusty winds and tumble weeds. I got pounded today going home in my daily. It's said the winds will be just as bad tomorrow.

  3. I don't know Alan, I would think so too. But if we get blamed for inciting this behavior you can rest assured that we will be shut down again. All I can say is enjoy it while it's here and police yourselves. And if you see it happening try to do something about it. I've found that tire irons and baseball bats usually get the message across.

If they give out enough tickets, the word will get out not to screww off.

Excited for you guys... wish I were there. I think if it's made unpleasant enough and expensive enough for the trouble makers they'll go somewhere else.

I guess that means ME and my Chevelle.
It is still windy up here in the SCV this afternoon, so if I come down, I might just bring one of my daily drivers. Either the Honda or the Saturn. Don't laugh, my Saturn Astra has butt warmers! Ha! Ha! Who needs a man when I got my car to keep my fanny warm?

  11. Well the writings on the wall. Van Nuys will die again, soon. Ralph's does not want us parking there because SOME people can't throw their trash away. Rydell has been sold. And the city morons are looking for a reason to drive us away. Oh well, enjoy it while you can 'cause it won't last long.

  12. Ralph's wasn't too bad, and the Police I saw were just hanging out, not chasing. But, it's still too soon after the bad news to tell. But, if all the names Reid mentioned don't want us, they will win the battle, that's for sure

  15. not gonna happen. too many people don't give a shit and no matter how many times we say throw your trash away they won't because their just selfish little punks and will do whatever they want. But that's just one problem. Too many morons in the city is the big problem. They can't see the revenue that we bring to an otherwise dead city or just don't care. So, we're done.

Okay you can be a winner or a whiner. you want to cruise? You want to do it at ralphs? everybody that show's up pitches in 5 bucks and you donate it to a children's hospital. ralph's donates over a million dollars to this cause every year. ( and it's a good one) come up with an organization name "save Van nuys Blvd." or something like that in conjunction with ralph's grocery store. then have a by-law that excludes punks so now it's a fudraising event. Then you can have the Non-contributors escorted away. here's the phone number to set it up.

You guys just don't see the forest thru the trees! We all know that it was very cold and windy last night, and that, in and of itself, helps lower the turn-out numbers.

And, I might add, that you ain't helpin' much by posting such negativity. You are truly only contributing to the demise!

I know WE are ALL getting older, and the older that people get, they in general, complain about anything and everything. What does shock me though, is that you guys appear to have went and gotten yourselves castrated!!! :p:eek::D:)

My advice is, go cruise, park on the street, don't do anything stupid, and this thing WILL flourish come spring and summer!

    Try to have some faith.....

Twenty five years from now some dude will start it up again and everyone will be talking about how great it was way back in 2009. :D

  21. what are they going to cruise, Hybrids?

  22. Ha, good luck with that. Years ago, at the street races, we'd try to do a "pot" race. Everyone that's been waiting all night to see a race puts a dollar in the hat to see 2 10 second cars race. They ran from that hat like it had fucking herpes. BTW, WHO'S gonna escort the non contributors away?

I think the smart way to do this would be to establish something that goes towards, cleaning up, beautifying, and re-energizing Van Nuys blvd.
If the city wants to reinvent itself, that street needs to be the start of the rebirth. A cause like that would likely get the city and the businesses on the cruisers side.

I'm sure that once the weather gets better, the cruisers will come. It has come too far to let it die out this easy. Let's give the merchants some time to "cool off" and hit 'em up again in the Summer. They'll be very glad to have the business back. Cha-ching!

I'm pretty sure just about all of the merchants were really supportive of it, I think Ralph's is the only one that complained. Like others have said, I'm sure it'll pick back up when the weather gets better...

Couldn't make it last 2 months, looks like winter slowed things down. Yeah, some of us are old, the young punks still show up when it's cold it seems...I'll be back in April as I'm sure a lot of others will.
Might be hypocritical of me to not show up two months running and then tell those of you that did, not to get negative but...DON'T GIVE UP YET! We had a good thing started, if we don't clog parking lots so paying customers can park, the merchants will be glad to have us. See you in April,

$5 whole dollars ??? what are you crazy ???

dude the VNCA tryed to have everyone donate a new sealed toy during the holidays and people gave them grief for it ...

better said then done ... the morons that want to park at where they cant will park at where they cant regardless of anyone asking them not to. The plan is simple cruise, park on the st., cruise some more, grab a bite , cruise , pick up after yourself, go home. Try getting people in over customized 300s, Tahoes, Escalades, Rat Rods & other blinged out rides to do that.

I for one will keep on going, only if it's officially closed by law should everyone say it's done. Van Nuys has not taken the Blvd back from use.
