Here is a pic of my 36 ford fenderless truck..hope you like...

 

Here is mine, not trad. but close. Unable to afford a cool eng. but it has been on the road since 2005 and always changing it. Like most truck builders I just started with the cab and doors. Building a fender truck same year but having hard time finding fenders for it.

 

You know for all the things that I might not like on paper like electric fan, over patina-ed body this has to be one of the best proportioned trucks with the greatest stances ever. Love this little fucker for sure!!!! Here is a shot I took at Bonneville this past year....

 

I agree, some paint and a mechanical fan, it would be perfect.

 

Mine is a little extreme but it's fun.

 

Excellent trucks men... this is what i'm looking to do as soon as i find one.

Here's some pix I had, none of them are mine and the photos either came from here or the internet or I took them. Good or bad, just pix.

To me the bed should be 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 the length of the cab not counting the cowl.

Yea, the white one still has the fenders but it's cool.

 

It seems most guys go with a 48" bed. I thought it always looked a tad to short. I made mine 54''. To me I think it looks alot better. I love the looks of a hood top any of them, from the A pickups through the 40's trucks.

i think thats even a bit short! im probably going to have a 66" or 72" bed!

most these trucks look funny to me with the short bed, throws the proportions way off IMHO

Good thread.A lot of cool trucks.With all those fenderless trucks,why can't I find good fenders for my 35 ford pickup?Maybe thats why their fenderless?

Here are a couple that I built. Not really what my shop is about now....but, hey....here they are.

First one is a 41 Chevy Civil Air Patrol Truck. This one is owned by a customer in Las Vegas. I'm not font of the bed to body proportions, but it was built to haul motorcycles and kinda needed to be long. It's also a fenderless hotrod with airbags *gasp* but, if you cant see them, they aren't ugly hahaha. It has a full length 7' bed, BBC, unchanneled cab, Custom chassis, Turbo 400, 12 bolt, triangulated 4 link out back with firestone bags, hidden airbags in the front crossmember, and a raised bed floor with motorcycle wheel hoops in front. There is NO filler in this chop. All metalwork.

This one is a 36 Dodge Brothers truck that is owned by a customer in Germany.
It has pretty wild proportions, and if I did this one again, I would shorten the front about a foot.....maybe two hahah. It has a 514 ford in it with a C6, 7" channel, 7"chop, 4 link out back and suicided front. The bed is a stubby A bed, and the grille is from a 35 Citroen haha. Everyone thinks its a ford grille.

I remember when you built that '36 Scotty. I like the new direction you have taken. But who wouldn't like a blown Nailhead Falcon?

 

Hahahaha....ya....I got alot of flak for that thing on here. It was 50/50 people eithe loved it or hated it. It was fun though. The falcon will be in the special gasser display at VLV this april. I'm working solid on it next monday through the 2nd to get it ready.

ok, i'll play...my 33 cab, 60 merc rear, 31 stude headlights, 56 olds dash. 57' 283 which now has 4 two's on an offy intake, 5 speed, and reworked suspension...not traditional i know, but it's been a blast to build and you wouldn't believe the things i've learned while doing it. hope to have it at the roundup, and then get it apart for paint, plating, and upholstrey....

 

^ thats a nice traditional custom. I bet you could have seen that in the 60s in the shows.

I like it, I think some different headers and bias blys in the front would put it right in the 60s

I really like the grill shell! What did you make it from? And it matches those headlights great!

 

^ umm... dig the hell out of that. think that's the first truck with a car rear i've seen since doc frakenstein's (don't remember his exact username) that i've liked. a lot.

like said above: different headers, bias plys on the front... some nice paint and a bit of chrome here and there, you've got the makings for a damn fine show truck. dig the hell out of it.
