i was there today!!!! my girl and i stayed at the queen mary! always a great time! now thats a cool place to stay!
has anyone done the uss victory lane cruse? that was fun! ww2 merch ship! they do day cruses in the summer time. you guys would love that too!
You know, I've had the brochure on my desk for about two years about the USS Lane merchant marine ship. Its got a huge parking lot that it doesn't share with anything else, so it would be a great car cruise-to event. Even if we were just take the tour of the ship would be good enough for me, but they do have the trip where you go out to sea for a few hours, have lunch and then they have "dog-fights" in the air with vintage aircraft. Also, there's that Russian Submarine to go aboard down there. Up next, though is a rod run up to the Nethercutt Museum. I gotta get on the plans for that run...it's all free, no admission and would make a good local run, then grab some lunch somewhere...we'll keep everyone posted when we get a date to meet up and go... http://nethercuttcollection.org/Visitor.aspx
yea thats the one i went on! soooo cool! i just wish the people that actually go are into it as much as i am, too many people that just dont get it! we met a really nice couple that served in ww2. the cruse includes 4 free beers and food! and i think a meet would be great there! but my 49 is not road worthy yet. im gunning for the summer time for it to be back on the road! but mazooa you must do it! you would love it for sure!!!!!!
1920 Griffith Park Pool and it's still there. I worked there during the summer when I was going to high school.
The Harrington was at 5224 Sunset, in between Kingsley and Harvard. It is now a strip mall wiht a 99cent store in it.
Whoa, it certainly does look the same. I spent many years in that neighborhood, as I went to La Salle High School and my (now) wife was up the street at Alverno.
then that is it! its still their, its on the street right behind the 99 cent store! and its a small apartment community now.
Ha...I went to La Salle High School in 1966 for a concert starring a band called "the Byrds". They had just come out with Mr. Tambourine Man". They would not let the us guys in unless we had a coat and tie on. So, we all had those horrible powder blue jackets and a tie put on for us by our dad's.
