I remember this area with it's tunnel. They filled it and built apartment complex over it. When the construction was going on I would drive past it almost every week, it was actually sad seeing it go.

Oil wells were common as people and cars in the 20's and safety measures were little or no existent. Fires were common.
The SS Harvard was a coastal steam along with the SS Yale. They sailed up and down the coast with freight and p***engers.
SS Harvard runs aground at Point Arguelo in 1931. My father was in the Coast Guard and helped try to re float it..No Luck

So, Life magazine shot a feature on a car show that happened May 1, 1952 in LA. Who knows what/where that show was? Some of the cars can be figured out by reading the placards. Some I don't know. Bob Kuykendall May 1952
