I bought a used Dart in 1972 that had been converted to a "sidewinder." Someone had cut the right side of the frame, shortened the piece, and welded it to the back of the seat on the right. They then attached a motor mount that hung on the rear axle and mounted to the right side of frame, next to the seat. A McCullogh engine was bolted next to the driver. That made adjusting the carb during the race alot easier. It performed well for two years, except for a few cracks that had to be repaired. Later I bought a KEE kart.
