    Wow, very, very sad story.
I am glad Dusty had a good friend like you Newt, especially now to help with his arrangements and family.

    Sorry for your loss.

I was reading this thinking how lucky he was going after his dream, only to read that he passed away. I am very sorry, please let his wife know that my wife and I are very sorry for her loss. As for you, you could not have been better friends and you both were very lucky. God bless you all..............

I am sorry to hear about Dustin. I am glad to know that his wife and family are ok and don't have to worry about financial matters. It is a shame that he left us at such a young age. please offer my condolences to his family. I really liked his wit and humor when reading some of his threads.

Condolences Newt, and also to Dusty's family. We all search for our dream with the expectation of someday achieving it. Life is far too short, and far too tragic.

So very very sad for your loss. We all share that loss with you, and grieve with you. The good character of some people really comes through on the hamb. Dusty was one of those. I enjoyed his sense of humor. He was obviously also a very kind person, and truly gave of himself...even here. Notice that he gratefully thanked all here who contributed to his quest. Not everone does that. God will welcome this man with open arms. In Jesus' name, may God bless Dusty and Newt and their families. And thankyou Newt, for being so kind as to inform us. - Rick

Damn...just caught back up with this thread, read how happy he was with his purchase, looked forward to the photos of the car...and then this awful ending to the story.

    Rest in peace...

I would also like to express my deepest condolence's to Newt, and Dusty's family and friends. I was finding the story about his search for a Hot Rod entertaining, and what a shocker to read the news of his passing. It actually brought a tear to my eye, and reminded me to live my life fuller.

As many here I followed Dustin's search for his car...

After a weekend enjoying mine..my friends and family..I came here to see pictures of Dustin's car.

Shocked to see this..with nothing more than the others here have said.

Peace brother Dustin..a good man never dies..but lives in the hearts of those whose life he touched. It appears Dustin touched many..and lives forever..

Enjoy every day..it all goes away too quick..

I saw the thread last week and was really excited for Dusty. My heart just hit the floor when I read the news. Incredibly sad.

I only knew of Dusty from this one thread, but it seems like he was the best of many things. He seemed kind and patient towards people in his posts. It seems like he valued things that are truly important in life: family, friends, and trying to make a positive impact in other's lives. He seemed like the kind of person that any of us would be lucky to have called "friend". You were extremely fortunate to have had a buddy like this, Newt- and from what I can see here, he was very fortunate to have had you too.

Be strong tomorrow, and I am sure that you will make your friend proud.

I'm not a very religious man, but I will be saying some prayers for all of you tonight.

It's funny how a story involving somebody we don't even know can touch the hearts of so many people.
As I wipe away the tear, R.I.P. Dusty
