Bob, Thank you very much for bringing your car down for the entire weekend. The attention that it drew was GREAT. A ton of people came in the booth just to take photos of the Merc.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Hey, great meeting you there Bob. I happened to pick up a 35th Anniv. Hot Wheels Merc 2 car set so between meeting you, the girl that helped you find the restrooms, the one that helped you find the atm,the one that gave you the wristband, the ones that asked what the Hamb was,the ones that loved your car long time, and picking up my die-cast, it was a kickass event.Talk to you later!!!

Redlinetoys? Does that mean you collect redlines? Cause I have about 13k redlines! Plus another 2k Hotrods and Customs...

I do collect hot wheels and all sorts of die cast and vintage plastic toy cars, but that is not where the name comes from.

For me, Redline Toys refers to full scale toys that get taken to the redline frequently! The license plate on my 55 says HOT ROD this year and the license on our Shelby has been ordered and will say REDLINE. A sticker on the speedo of the 55 says, "Wide open 'til you see God, then brake!"

Not to hijack your post, but funny story. I always wanted the REDLINE plate, but it was taken over the last couple of years when I would try to get it.

One day driving in another part of the state I was passed by a black Saturn Redline with the personal license plate. I figured he wouldn't be into it forever, so I waited until just after the cutoff date for renewing the plate. At 3:00am when the computers came up for the next avail date to renew for the following year, I finally was able to get online and be the first to re-reserve it.

I dig your diecast. Will have to find one! Congrats!

I tried to get the BAD BOB plate from the guy who has it for 4years,then just gave up. He wasn't getting rid of it anytime soon.
    That's funny,cause when I read redlinetoys,I automatically****umed in was for Redline Hotwheels,HAHAHA!

Hell, I had to pay some schlub $50 to "recreate" my OT ride in Hot Wheels size. I supplied the casting, wheels, paint, and a stack of pictures.

He kept it for 6 months and sent me back some abortion that barely resembled the actual car. He actually used a sharpie to add the color split pinstripe on the two tone paint.

    A goddamn sharpie...

I'll be watching for this one... it'll proudly go on display with my other HAMBesque diecast.

There was a gal who Custom paints Hotwheels at the show and I gave her a 1/24 scale '49 Merc, chopped, slanted b-pilar,etc,to paint it JUST LIKE my Merc. She said it would be expensive!!! I asked how much...$120. I told her,"are you kidding? That's nothing compared to how much I spend on diecasts!!!" hahaha!!! I was expecting her to say $300 or something...
When I get it,i'll post some pic's of it.

please do. I should take pictures of my customs. I probably have 200 or so that I made or bought. For a while there you could find some really wicked kustoms on Ebay. I do some simple wheel changes... engine swaps and paint... some of the stuff people do are insane!

  20. I think this company should make a memorial diecast of Kenny's Willy's,I think that is the least they can do for the man who originated the paint job that they used from Bobs car.

Like I said...my flame job didn't originate with his car. I designed what I wanted and Steves style is his style! One of the cars he did after mine looks just like mine also. Doesn't mean anything, except the same guy did them...
I would love to have a pic with my Merc and Kenny's Willys. Last time I saw it was about 4 years ago, maybe 5.

Just went to Target by my house and bought my first one off the shelf!!!!!!! Also picked up the flamed '57 Chevy.
It was pretty emotional to see my car actually in a store for anybody to buy...
The ones in Target are on cards on the pegs. There were about 30 cars, but only ONE Merc. So I think they will be hard to come by....GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
