I found this while surfing the web. It's me (top left) with the Firebirds car club of GMI Flint Mi. from about 1962

I was thinking the exact same thing, the after shots have no soul.

swi66 those pics of the Pierce Arrow building are really cool. When I left in 2006 that area was a shit hole. Nice to see it's bouncing back!!!

  13. This was a custom build for the 1935 movie "Stolen Harmony". Maybe I should build one like it for my band....

One of the few success stories of the area, and I do mean few.
Shea's Theater, and the Darwin Martin House are a few others, and the Central Tterminal is under restoration.

But Buffalo, like many other cities, save a few, while the rest falls by the wayside.
If you are from Buffalo, you know the Statler is now boarded up, the Richardson complex is crumbling, and the city seems to be losing ground every day.
The pictures posted on Atlanta are an eye opener, unfortunately most cities are sufferring the same problems.

What do you do with a grand railroad station now that hardly anyone travels by rail?
Richardfson complex. Former Buffalo Psychiatric Center, now mostly vacant and deteriorating.

Buffalo's Statler Hilton, the most elegant hotel.
Now closed, the windows on the ground floor boarded up, located across from city hall.

Currently the Statler has what they call a multi million dollar negative property value. The cost for renovation to make it economically feasable to operate and even heat make it look like a future parking lot.
