Need Some Model A Trunk Hinge Help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bib Overalls, Mar 24, 2010.

  1. Bought a Brookville 30/31 deck lid and their hinge kit. Came without instructions.

I've got the part that holds the pin and fastens to the body proper figured out.

However, my new deck lid does not have any holes or slots in it for the "female" plate. Can anyone give me the layout for the holes? Does the female plate go on the inside or the outside of the lip on the deck?

Any pictures you might have would be appreciated.

The "plate" mounts to the body that holds the pin.

edit I think I misunderstood, the "female plate" should mount on the inside of the decklid "lip".

Anyone have pics of how the hinge mounts? I have the same setup and have not tried to mount it yet. You know what they say a pic is worth a thousand words. thanks

dont go off somebodys measurements, set your deck lid up with good gaps, set at the right hight, and mark deck lid thru holes in body with mount plates installed on body

  5. Sounds like good advice.

  6. Are you setting up as a rumble seat or just a normal type deck lid??

  9. Thanks for the help guys. I think I have what I need now.

Langy - can you post some pictures of the petrol tank and filler?

  10. I just noticed the plate on the left side is backwards, the nut should be in the groove, it's there to allow for slight adjustments. just thinking out loud.
