Some more pics for you guys, First we redid the hair pins. I didnt like how wide the opening was towards the back so cut about 1/4in off each tube and then slid the threaded sleeve back about 1/2in. no one will probably notice but it needed to be done.
Then I smoothed out the top of the axle and for some reason the very end holes had bolts welded in them. So i ground out the welds and knocked them out. Smoothed out the line across the top and it is ready to go to the blaster. [IMG]

Next up we made a nice little pad to rest your left foot on. I figured id drill some holes in it, from now on the only holes a bracket will get is for mounting, took too long and didnt come out too straight, oh well its done.

Thats it for this weekend, more to come soon, Thanks, Joe

First Nostalgia day at New England is may 30th, Im shooting for the car to be done in time for that. After smoothing out the top of the axle I sent it over to be blasted, got it back the next day and scott threw some primer on it.
Next up boxed in the back of the throttle mount and put a little side support to keep the ear from wanting to twist.
Then moved over to the clutch side and made up a plate for the back and put in a support right under where the clutch linkage will connect to keep the mount from wanting to pull forward when depressed.

Im waiting on a bearing for the steering shaft, should be here this week and I can get the drop/mount figured out and get the steering wheel mounted.

Here we go again, made up a little plate to box the trans mount in.
Then took some 1/4in aluminum plate and made up this column drop, this took up a good portion of the day but Im really happy with how it turned out.
I bought a little 3/4 ID bearing for the shaft to ride in and setting it up to take a small SW temp and oil pressure guages.

coming along slow, my dad and i have had a few engine rebuilds to take care of over the winter, so all i was able to do was disconnect everything from the buick's engine to get it out of there. finishing up the last engine rebuild and install on a gmc pickup, then i'm pulling my nailhead.

    new updates look great!

    ok a few more updates
    Made up some throttle linkage
    [IMG]
made up a lil firewall and floor
    [IMG]
    slide on in....
Bought a sheet of aluminum and found a place with an 8ft power sheer and he let us cut out the panels for nothing, drew everything out copied the templates fitted them up.
First time setting up those fasteners, so some areas are a little tight, needs some tweaking, but all in all came out nice. Im going to round the corners of the side panels and roll the top over the tube next.
Once we get the cowl top figured out its going to be blown apart and finish welded, prime, paint and hopefully hit the track in the spring.

    Joe,
Its getn there. I'm loving it. I like the throttle linkage, simple but effective. Keep us in the loop with the progress.

On the floor again....Also cut out the two vertical bars behind my head and Brad bent me up a hoop and we welded that in, I like it alot better. Couple more little things to button up before shes blown apart.
