Friend died, his GF is selling up. I dragged home the '53 SouthBend Heavy 10 to go with my '37 SB 13x72. A friend is picking up the Logan tonight but there is still a (3ph) Tree mill & a 13in Leblonde Regal lathe (220v 1ph)
Ideally one of you guys will rush over there & rescue both of those for $1000 each. They are located near the corner of Sherman Way & Laurel Cyn.

If they aren't sold by tomorrow morning they are going into storage & will probably bever see the light of day again.

If anyone in the LA area is interested, gimme a call at 661 965 3515 & I'll put you in contact with the gal.
There are other tools: Surface grinder, Cincinnati drill press, Delta drill press with 2 heads, Compressor & a 16in Duro bandsaw.

I'd have bought more stuff but my garage is now full:

Well it certainly didn't get dirty from being used. I was messing about with it in the garage a while ago when there was a puff of dust & most of the dry leather belt vaporized. Looking at the remains it appears to be the original one fitted at the factory in '53 :(

They need rescueing by sometime early on Tuesday... & apparently $1000 each is the going price right now.

I hauled that Southbend home behind my S10 on a U Haul open trailer that cost $14.95 for the day :)

Part of the problem with this stuff is that the gal knew she had to be out by today... 2 ******** months ago but "wasn't ready to sell anything" until last Friday....

Now she's going to wait a while until she sells the vehicles: '43 Willys Jeep, '55 T Bird, VW Thing & some ****box Corolla

& a mid '70's Jaguar XJ 6L 4 door that has the cylinder head sat in the trunk...

Damn, son. Have money, but no way to get them from there to here. :(

Would love to have at least one of the drill presses and the bandsaw.

Maybe, but I think the Dunlap is still worth the $25 I paid for it, ditto the $50 I paid for the Wilton ;)

Just spoke with another member here & he should be hauling *** over to the shop to save the Tree mill as I type :)

Got the serial # cards for both of SB 's via email just now. My Heavy 10 was originally shipped to Pasadena City Schools on 7/21/53 & my 13x72 was originally shipped to Kelley Wells Mach. Co 4140 Whiteside Ave LA on 12/3/36 via Eccles & Davies Machinery Co. LA.

Ok, If anyone see's something they want:
They are now loading the truck to take this stuff to storage. Call Victoria if you want to buy anything at 323 386 3543.

Someone from Fontana called earlier about the double drill press but didn't leave a call back #.... They want to know if you are still interested??.. like *now* would be a good time to call.

ok, deal on the Tree didn't happen so the mill is still available. The guy who bought the Delta double drill press is picking it up Thursday AM so the same should be possible for the mill & anything else... BUT you need to call Victoria & sort it out today, like now, when you get to the end of this sentence... ;)

I just do maint on the Tigercat, that's my job: Warbird maint stuff, mostly P51's tho.

    Me, at *work*.. :)
