Scanning these photos and thinking back I wonder what happen. I remember going to Lions, Irwindale, & OCIR and when they have a T/F meet there was at least 35 cars or more.

Sure miss those good old days.

Every saturday when I wasn't at Lions, I was here (yellow dot, my favoite camera location), at Irwindale, 15 minutes from home....and the scene would look like this all the time and we never thought these days would end..glad I was there, because end, they did...:(

    MAZ:

    How true.

I was talking T/F but the F/c was even better as there was more of them & when the winter months came a lot of them came home as well as the Eastern cars came west. Then you had the OCIR MFG. Meet which was draw close to a 100 cars and sometimes more. ALL BLOWN NITRO CARS.

The best thing also they had names. No big beer, oil companies.

Plum, a great service you are doing for all of us. It's been a real treat to see all of your photos. Thank you...

I was just looking at Plum's photo of "Big Daddy" and I thought..."I wonder how many miles this fella has driven in the seat of a race car?"

    Although we'll never know, it's a bunch...all a quarter-mile at a time...

two classes of cars have had very little exposure in this thread, Modified & Comp elimintor cars. I know another tread was started on modifieds.
It would be nice to see some of the more unusual cars that competed in Comp such as Altereds.

Rich, IM not sure it was a local car run in the mid 60's here. Both owners have now passed on.
The Red/White/Blue "t" was their later car.

Hi I am new to the H.A.M.B and have gone through about 36 pages of this thread. I have been looking for some Gate Job pictures and Buntline Special dragster driven by Dudley Proctor. Does anybody know if there are any pictures of these cars on this thread or any other threads, if so what pages and what thread are they on. Thanks in advance.
