Here's pics of Randy's T-Bolt at Beaver Springs 2009 before he made a pass.

Exactly! Since I have never seen your car in person or any YouTube clips, I would be interested in hearing more specs on driveline components being used and what kind of ET's you're currently running?

Also, besides the Nate Cohen car which was the other original bolt in the pics?

That'd be the black car in the upper left, which was the second Hawkinson Ford car originally campaigned as "Pop's T-Bolt" and later as "Bad Hombre" and the Poole & Aitken car (and probably others throughout the years). The photo below was taken recently at a show, but I can't recall which show.

    Take your pick.

BTW, from talking with Ron Pellegrini and others, Pop's T-Bolt is allegedly the Hawkinson Ford automatic car, but is not 100% confirmed.

Same as this one, but it says "VIP 50" "Bad Hombre" on it. Was "Pop's" on the rear quarter above the Thunderbolt lettering?

What Ron said makes sense that his was the 4spd, since in this pic the VIP has "SSA" on the windows, yes?

Above the "Thunderbolt" was the name and address of ??? Racing Hydros, Chicago, ILL

The black former Poole & Aitken SS/C car is definitely the Hawkinson Automatic car. Just not 100% certain it was Pop's T-Bolt.

There was some thought that Pop's T-Bolt was the Southside Ford car.

...and the boat began to rock... The Southside car was an automatic car, too, in the same general Chicago, Ill area..

Based on your years of knowing these cars which do you think it is?

Is the Southside car still in existence and one of the documented?

It depends who you talk to. I've heard two different stories. The more credible one said the car was scrapped.

I had to go pick up some parts in Kentucky a couple weeks ago and along the way, I drove through Madisonville Ky...home of Don Bowles...original driver of the Connor Ford car Revenge and later Blue Thunder. That got me thinking about the car. Does it exist now or is it lost? Any history on that one?

Been MIA since 1965 or so. Don said he sold it to buy Phil Bonner's 1964 Falcon. When he found out that NHRA wouldn't let him run it, the deal was off, however he had already sold the Bolt.

Was this the Paul Harvey Bob Ford SSA car after it was converted to 4spd or is this the #2 car with "BIG SAM II" and not "Thunderbolt" on the qtr panel?

  22. Car #35 in Thunderbolt Registry- Pulliam Motors originally out of Charlotte, NC.

Do you know who restored the car?

Looks like the front bumper is mounted to low? I am used to seeing them a lot higher!!

Beautiful and very tough looking T-Bolt!

Of course without knowing the VIN, you really can't say for certain, but I believe I have seen this car almost every year at the DM Good Guys Show and if memory serves me correctly it is a beautiful Recreation. Sure there are tells, but I know of Real TBolts that don't have all of the original equipment either. Based on what I currently own myself, it wouldn't hurt my feelers to own it. ;)
