HAMB Auction for a Pair of Canadian, Aluminium V8, Fleathead, Heads: All Proceeds are Paid to Ryan who will arrange shipping with the winner ! I will deliver these heads to Ryan at the Round-Up, therefore; you now have an excellent excuse for attending this year and save on shipping. Here it goes: A pair of 1940 Ford, "Canadian", aluminium V8 flathead, heads These heads are NOT perfect, NOT excellent, NOT mint, however; they are very good Rare - Yes "MADE IN CANADA" appears on each head in block letters, which should be left during your polishing, as the heads have only recieved a quick bead blasting for cleaning You will notice the heads are not exact, however; as VonDutch stated, you only look at one side of the car at a time. There are two threaded temperature bungs on one head and only one on the second head There is next to NO pitting in the combustion chambers, if you are familiar with flatheads, this is somewhat unusual for 60 year old Ford aluminium heads One head has some pitting at the very end of the head, just before the outside / end of the head (very minor in my opinion) If you wish, jump over to "my blog" and you may read a little more history on these SOUGHT AFTER HEADS which are increasing in price Enjoy and happy bidding...... Just for kicks, lets start the bidding off at $19.40......Eh !
Everyone now want these heads...... Not many left, north of the 49th..... Come On folks, we have to help out the HAMB...... However; very good, thanks....
I think Doc claimed these as soon as they hit the board. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=440505
Candy-Man you are the man. What a cool gesture. Those things are rare as hens teeth. You should show em a pic of what they look like polished. And Norwell you ain't so bad either buddy. The LSRU Glicee is tops. Top notch both of you.
Doc: Your heads will be delivered to Ryan at the Round-Up for everyone to see, see you there..... Steve: See you next week & Thanks.......
Congratulations on your new heads Doc. Really go's to show how rare it is to find these heads in great shape. Fond a hot rod shop in calgary today (frist one iv fond and I wasn't looking) they had a 38' out front with the same heads but with big cracks right thru to the water pockets. Can't wait to see some pics of them all shiny and on a fresh block!
