Your a bit late on the Impact thread because it was dismissed in Federal Court today (only one week after SFI made the complaint) and by the way you really need to know all the facts.
Maybe you should read just above your post..... Impact did not "knock off" HANS clips, as stated above, they were SOLD fake HANS clips, along with Bell, Simpson and Arai. From Georgia, where HANS themselves are located. These HANS clips were found on Bell, Simpson and Arai helmets also by NASCAR, which obviously didn't come from Impact, since Impact has never sold a HANS clip, only installed them on their own helmets when requested. So explain that. http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230944
There is some good news for users of Impact Racing Products. In light of the release of the joint agreement bewteen Impact and SFI the SCTA has revised their official stand on the use of Impact products at their events: Thursday April 1 RE: UPDATE OF CERTIFICATION STATUS ON IMPACT RACING EQUIPMENT The following joint press release was announced by the SFI Foundation and Impact Racing, LLC today. Impact Racing has provided sworn testimony, that products bearing the SFI label produced in 2009 and 2010, were manufactured to meet SFI specifications. The SFI Foundation has agreed to uphold the certification of products manufactured in 2009 and 2010. Products bearing manufacture dates prior to 2009 have remained decertified. The full press release can be viewed by following this link: http://www.sfifoundation.com/ After careful consideration and investigation by the SCTA Technical Committee, inclusive of information exchanged with representatives from the safety certification organizations SFI and Snell, SCTA / BNI has decided to follow their recommendations. In plain English this is how this decision may affect you. If you currently own any of the decertified Impact Racing products listed below with manufacture dates prior to 2009, you will be required to replace them with a non-Impact product or Impact product with a manufacture date of 2009 or 2010, prior to competing at an SCTA-BNI event. 3.2A Driver Suits (3.2A/1, 3.2A/3, 3.2A/5) 3.2A Driver Suits (3.2A/10, 3.2A/15, 3.2A/20) ** 3.3 Driver Accessories: Arm Restraints Shoes (3.3/5) Drag Boots (3.3/15, 3.3/20) Gloves (3.3/1, 3.3/5, 3.3/10, 3.3/15, 3.3/20) Harness Pads Helmet Supports Hoods/Balaclavas Socks Underclothing ** 16.1 Driver Restraint Assemblies 16.5 Stock Car Driver Restraint Assemblies * Other Impact products not listed MAY also be under scrutiny and may be decertified at any time in the future. Nonsense. If it were that way, the SFI would have issued a blanket recertification of all Impact products. What happened is that Impact quietly admitted that they played fast and loose in 2007-8, and that they played it straight again starting in 2009. SFI isn't in the lawsuit business, they're in the safety certification business. Impact made a quiet admission of past wrongdoing and saved their company. Up your own ass a bit, are you?
Again, you don't know what you're talking about......the suits were made wrong because an employee changed the design unbeknownst to anyone, and was fired for it. When you run a huge business with hundreds of employees, you can't control what they do 100% of the time.
Keep 'em coming. Your excuses get funnier with every post. Impact was duped by someone faking HANS clips (and the clips in question were made offshore, NOT in Georgia), they accidentally bought fake SFI patches (when in fact the only source for SFI patches is SFI), and now some rogue employee fucked up the suits. I love good fiction.
You'll see when the results of the lawsuits come down. Obviously you love good fiction since it's all you write.
Steel Coupes, you have mentioned a couple things I have not found elsewhere on the 'net. I will say that IF your version is correct;' 1. Impact made suits that were wrong. They did not fix the problem until SFI forced it. 2. You mention that "You'll soon see the connection between the suit recall, the SFI tags and the HANS clip deal". Why is it that Impact, if they had knowledge of the problem, didn't do the right thing and do something before SFI pulled all this out into the harsh light? 3. Bill S. is the head guy. The buck stops at his desk. Sure every big company has employee issues, but when issues arise, steps to correct the problem must be taken. 2 years of no tags problems indicates that time has passed without corrections being made. Even if this is a giant "Kill Bill" conspirasy and he is providing a great product that is being undermined internally and held to a higher standard than others due to egos (which there has also been much said), who would be willing to purchase anything from someone who Big Brother is gunning for?

Impact Racing, LLC will immediately notify SFI Foundation, Inc. of this occurrence. Impact Racing, LLC and SFI Foundation, Inc. will work with the sanctioning bodies to determine the best method for product users to present verification of the date of manufacture.
The threads got merged together so I dont really know who you're referring to here but I am a SCTA tech inspector and have been dealing with problems with impact since last year. The more I hear about this BS the less I trust impact.
According to sfi impact knocked them off. Are you suggesting that sfi is lying? Did you forget about the impact fire suits that did not meet sfi specs but had sfi patches on them? Maybe you can explain that one for all of us. Also, you seem to be the only one with this info about bell and simpson. You haven't shown anything that supports what you're saying. BTW the douche bags on yellowbullet are a bunch of fucktards. Talk about a waste of bandwidth...
That has alrady been posted. And please read the rules of participating in this forum by posting a profile and an introduction. Thanks for playing
The plot thickens, but all I see in the joint agreement is clarification or understanding that this issue happened before 2009. A lot still needs to be done and maybe some final agreement will be reached for the allegations prior to 2009, but it appears to me that SFI still thinks Impacts hands are dirty prior to 2009. I wonder if there are penalty provisions (fines, probation, or restricted operations including such things as SFI oversight requirements at company cost, etc.) in SFI's rules. That might be the logical resolution and allow Impact to pin it on an ex-employee without putting Impact out of business. But if a systemic problem is found where people were directed to do wrong, it could get messy. Well messier.
Ran full impact gear during my championship season 2007 in wingless sprintcars, All their stuff is of immense quality in my opinion, everything held up great even after a nasty write-off flip at the end of the season. Which is more than I can say for my last simpson brand Vudo helmet that cracked to shit all around the Hans device mounting tabs after a tommy-tipover. Either way, sad to hear about all this, im sure it'll all work out in the end.
