You can be a participant, or you can be a spectator. It's all good...

Thank you everyone for indulging me on these posts. I know my posts have been very random, but that is not unlike Los Angeles. It is not a city, but a series of hundreds of neighborhoods spread out over hundreds of square miles. The diversity of Los Angeles is astounding to me...

    Nope...Franklin Canyon

Just off Coldwater Canyon at Mulholland is a secluded nature retreat millions of mental miles away from the clamor of rush-hour traffic. You may recognize the duck pond, woodland setting and three-acre lake from their starring role as the background on The Andy Griffith Show reruns. With its amphitheater and nature museum, Franklin Canyon Park is a nice day's ideal rural retreat, perfect for bringing the kids.

    go down to "other details"

I worked on a commercial there in the 1970's with Jean Peters, Howard Hughes ex-wife, and yup...I almost started to whistle the theme song....

Remember that Laurel and Hardy classic where they had to get a piano up a bunch of concrete stairs? I think the episode was called "the Music Box".

Special Ed, would you please stop using my photos without permission or credit cited? I am "KingoftheHill," from Skyscraperpage and Flickr, aka the guy whose photos are you are posting on here with zero prior consent.

A little bit of credit is all I ask!

Wow! I'm truly sorry. I thought I read that all the photos on that site were public domain. They are truly spectacular photos! But I will remove them right now, If you'd like...

How about The Apple Pan on Pico? My college GF took me there in 1986 and the food was delicious. Real Coke in bottles too. French fries cooked the old way--the way McDonald's fries tasted back in the '60s.

Actually, they are public domain if hosted on Flickr. Ed, it's completely up to you if you want to take them down or not.

Tavor, if you would rather your images not be imbedded, you need to set your flickr account to private.

Ryan, I believe he is just looking for the credit due him. He pm'd me. His photos are beautiful, and he certainly should be recognized for his efforts...

KingoftheHill/Devan Wells took several of the recent gorgeous color photographs of Los Angeles that I've posted for everyone's enjoyment on here. He obviously has a great photographic "eye", and deserves credit for his labors. Thank you Devan, for generously sharing your work with us.
