I had the day off... Thrash'n hard to make the Round Up. Floors are welded in. I'll finish welding in the morning and move to wires in the afternoon. I hope to take her around the block on Sunday....
Great thread and a beautiful, rockin ride Jay! Good luck with it, you're almost there. You really picked well on the spark plug installer, too... Take care, man... look forward to seeing more pics of the realization of your dreams!
Jay, keep up the good progress. Make finish and safety goals the step more important than getting it down the road. Have someone shove the brake pedal like an emergency stop situation while you look for brake fluid leads. If your plumbing is correct, the parts are correct, it won't matter how hard you push the pedal. If any parts are defective, leaking, whatever, they will show. Keep having fun!
Hewre are some updates... The back 2/3's of the floor is welded in and painted. Gas tank is mounted and connected. Ignition wires are ready. I need to fill with fluids and double check all nuts/bolts and fittings... Then the test drive...
It was on this day, 2 years ago I brought this sedan home. I truly hope to be able to test drive it tomorrow. and yes... There will video...
Was fixing to hit the hay and thought about you and what progress you might have made... Good luck tomorrow and can't wait for the video. Can't wait to see it finished
Very nice ,,i like what you did with the bead roller around the inner rear fender, great idea will have to do it in mine
Good news, You better lose those red fuel lines unless you want a fire soon, glad too see the patience has paid off, Looking good
This is the kind of thread I enjoy reading with my coffee! Nice project and great progress! Have fun at Round up!!!
I have heard that... I will swap'em out after I get he ron the road... BTW... Did not happen today...
Thank you for the words guys! WOW!!! Thank you! Thank you! No test drive today... so the deal with my bride is no Round up. I got almost everything done for a drive, however today ended with me scratch'n my head over a spark issue. I had fuel, the engine cranked, but did not fire. every 2nd or so rev, the center carb would pop almost like it was letting out the pressure.... I know i'm missing something simple, because we've had this thing running twice before...
Backwards distrib/dustrib cap? Sounds like it's out of time. When you open the points does the wire coming out of the coil spark when close to the block? Getting spark at the plug? You'll figure it out Jay!
If no Round Up there is always Temple Drags on 4/17 or Ardmore White Walls and Drags on 5-8 or the Texas Nostalgia Drags on 5-15 As for the motor not firing...take a step back and re-group... if not give me a shout
I had to put up all the tools we drug out and eat too... Whee Whooo!!! That was cool stuff!!!! And Viva La HAMB and HotRob!!!! She lives!!!!
