Too bad, bro. Yes, the collapsible steering column is a one way street, and when you think about it that is a good thing. You would never want to again trust one that collapsed, except maybe on a lawn mower.
if you have access to a break ( bends long strips of metal or know a place you just have to copy the few bends to make the skin just remember there are more then one to make a rocker this pic is the rockers 48dreams has for his car to give you an idea
alright thanks. i know a few people out of town with sheet metal brakes that would probably help me out.

Right on Joel glad to see you back at her! Heres a pic of the ol 47 last weekend, got the column in working on the master/brake pedal ***y....but I just found a really rotten coupe parts car
i put the fuel pump in a coffee can connected everything and she starts up and runs mint i have to get a new throttle body for the carb as the ****erflies got stuck and now they are warped i have to find someone who can weld a new spout on the gas tank i am going to use the factory fill spot on the fender and adapt the GM tank to work i have to get another GM column and do the body work ( wish i could borrow kool kemp ) im going to try to take care of the little things like rerunning the fuel lines and rear brake line, extend emergency brake cable , new shift linkage ect. my internet should be back on this week i miss the h.a.m.b.
Doesn't hurt to hear it run and not be able to drive it? Do you need the Plymouth emblem on the trunk? If so I have one. Let me know.
Old school trick to relo a fuel filler: Find the center of where the new filler will enter the tank and pierce a hole with a sharp drift. Then use your tin snips and cut pie slices from the hole to the outside of the circle the filler tube makes on the tank. Its like cutting a pizza by poking a hole in the center of the pie and then using snips to cut outwards to the crust. Then, bend the pie slices upwards. Now you stab the filler neck into the hole and the pie slices help hold it in place. Solder; done and with no chips inside the tank.
it inspires me more to here it roar would hate to fabricate everything and put everything on and she don't turn on memorial day weekend is junkyard week end for me going to run to englars and share some cash to him he is a really cool guy and maybe harry's if i dont find what i need as far as the trunk i dont remember if i have a new one i know i have the new gl*** but the frame i have is ****py interesting idea plym49 i can't wait to have this done im getting stressed on all the body patching i have to do koolkemps pictures makes it look so easy i know once im done i will laugh at it but there nothing i can do till i take the junk yard run
i can't wait to have this done im getting stressed on all the body patching i have to do koolkemps pictures makes it look so easy i know once im done i will laugh at it but there nothing i can do till i take the junk yard run One patch at a time Joel , thats how I do it if you look at all of the work at once it can be depressing lol, but I just concentrate on 1 spot at a time, even if you can only do an hour or 2 at a time next thing ya know a **** load of work is behind you. I also take lottsa pics of what I do, when I feel like I havent got much done I look back at some of the older pics makes me realize how much I DID get done keep at er!!
i don't know why all those guys are complaining about your swap..lets see what they have... probably nothing special... mine is a 48 dodge town sedan project... i am also on the dodge p15-d24 site ,,, and i don't get any **** from them ,,even tho my car dosn't fit into the stock car area..
Thats a hell of a lotta work! I went simple with my 47 Super deluxe and just swapped the dead 218 for a built 230. Then did the brakes, suspension, and now floors. Just gonna make it a sleeper
im back on the net woohoo this might be off topic but i thought i would share with you guys i figured how to save money and put it to my project to save a boat load of money on my phone bill i just got the magic jack so its $20 for the year unlim***ed phone service even long distance ok koolkemp do you think the roof skin i sliced off the donor car can be used to patch the body it kinda has a curve so i figured i would be fighting it more then if i got a flat sheet or hammer the basterd and continue to work with what i got i need to study you pics again that show part by part it made so much sense
I would just buy some new flat stock cold rolled, 20 gauge should be fine...I keep my old roofs for makin fender skirts and for doing top chops...stay tuned lol ! I gotta start a build thread I suppose eh!
a friend i gave some free stuff to happens to work at a muffler shop so he bent me up some pipes and guess what i did today my gas tank i wanted to use the factory fill spot so i relocated the filler neck on the tank to the side i cut the old connection to the orig 47 tank to use as the new connection and attached a pipe at a better angle
Nice work. BTW be careful with the Magic Jack. There might be a reason it is so cheap. There have been allegations that they essentially eavesdrop on calls to serve up targeted advertising. I don't know if this is true or not but it might make sense for you to carefully read the end-user agreement.
