thanks..picked it up sat.if i can get the motor loosend up im gonna try to make it to the showdown in it.
FN that is kool. I am jealous. Great for you. Awesome car. Sometime I am gonna find an A in the barn that will be able to bought instead of the " No I am gonna fixer up someday" find. LOL
Oh, that is a nice one. I think I'd spiff it up and paint it the color he always wanted to or the color it was when he first rodded it and go have a blast in it. Outside of that I sure wouldn't make any changes.
yeah for now im going to putt around in the four banger if she frees up.it sucks because Herman had a Winfield head on it way back.but couldnt remember where it went.i have plans for a 331 Hemi.keep it pre-war looking now then set it up 1952-54
The Hotrod Gods have smiled on you. Enjoy your ride and be sure to involve the Gentleman that sold you the car. Bet he is full of stories and would like to share them.
the motor isnt much to see.but the gray is what he put on it in 49.im leavin it alone.i'll never paint it...and thats what i do for a living.full on kandies.flake whatever.but nothing is a s great as true patina.it has a 40 Ford column, box and wheel in it
Beautiful .Just dont ruin it .Id paint it and thats it .If you don't I wont hate you ,Awesome car ......
It's even cooler that the ol timer that built it is still around to tell you about it. Did he have any old photos of it back in the day? Great score!
That trunk handle is super cool even if the text on it isn't exactly accurate. I wonder what it's worth.
i wont ruin it trust me.i'll keep it forever.the story in itself is a reason to do so.he built it in 49 sold it in like 53.he bought it back in 79 and had it until sat.the fenders are bobbed and i have fold down windshield post he got way back.he gave me a copy of a pic of him posing by it in 49.its so sweet.dudes like 20..before i loaded it his wife came out and took pics with her camera of me and him with his car.i felt like they were losing a part of the family..my plan is to get it going and go take him a ride before he passes.awesome man
