Although these big 4 1/2' X 5 1/2' cardboard signs were used on the back of our city buses, while heading for the 32 Funny Car event in 1977, I noticed this one at the bottom of the freeway exit directing people to PIR. I also noticed that it was placed over the city's directional sign - thereby blocking the city sign. Since it is illegal to cover up a city sign, I felt it was my civic duty to remove the offending poster. It has been hanging in my shop ever since.
i don't have any real ones. but i do make original art inspired by them. they are all carved out of linoleum plates with hard carved text, all printed on a 19th century proofing press. here are a few, hope you like them:
