very cool ride . hope you got to talk some history with him. oh.. by the way , is that his mopar in the one pic ?
How about some bigger pictures for my favorite new FNG? <center> <br /><br /> <br /><br /> <br /><br /> <br /><br /> </center>
wow..i dont know how to do that to the pics..thanks..the Mopar stuff is mine and my Dads.the 64 Polara is mine.it will be Hemi powerd and run A/stock.the back is a real BO29 Hemi CUDA.a lil new for here but we love S/S racing too.
Wow. Happy Easter! LOL. Best post from a FNG in a while. Shoot...from anybody in a while! Congrats to you. That's so cool...I can't even say. A survivor hot rod from the late '40s. Maaaaaan! Happy for you, tuki! I'd difinitely keep it as close to what it is as you can. Keep the banger. It's a time-machine...don't change it! You've really found something there...not a lot of unchanged hot rods around. Preserving the history of that car is the best thing you could do.
I can appreciate our Mopar/Hemi roots but doing a hemi in that would be a waste. The frame won't take the abuse and you'd have to practically destroy the car as it appears today to pull it off. Let the Mopars roar with some more modern underpinnings and keep this old gal to remind you where we came from. Frank
'28 Ford Roadsters rule! Good find. You can see in the Old Timer's eyes that he knows it will be in good hands.
Sweet score man! And like the others have said already, leave it alone and get it going. Think about it man, by the time you get the HEMI in a frame that will hold it and everything else around it your not gonna have much of hi car left. So leave it, build a HEMI car after you've giggled and smiled in this thing for miles and miles! -Shiny
yeah but i dont want to putt around forever.i have a rebuilt 331.im thinking a early 50s rod..maybe??for now im just going to putt tho.no matter what i wont molest the car.
heck im torn tho..i really love the way the car has that early 40s lake look.mayb i'll keep the 331 for later and put a Flathead in the roadster.then i wouldt have to mess with the frame much.
Just flat out awesome man, that would be so cool of you to get her runnin' and go take him for a ride, I bet you will see the 20 year old in his eyes as they well up with tears....... Good Luck, James
Very cool! Yep, get her runnin' and take the old timer for a spin. I like the idea of asking him what he would have ultimately wanted to do to it, and trying to do that (paint color, etc.). I think that it would be amazing for him to see it done.
