Swap meet and drag racing,Mt. Vernon ,Oh.May 22

This is an invitation to all Hambers to join the Buckeye Rod Builders at Pacemakers Dragway ,Saturday , May 22nd,2010. This is a great track that has remained virtually unchanged for over 40 years . This is going to be a very relaxed ,fun atmosphere ( no tech. inspection) with a flagman start . We are not going to have eliminations , just run what you brung as many times as you wish . Racing will be 1/8 mile .
Friday night will be a test and tune from 5pm-10pm . Free camping on site (primitive) .Several club members will be camping so come join us around the bon-fire .
Saturday hours will be 8am-5pm officially , but we have the track for the whole weekend . If we wish , we can stay later and camp again Saturday night.
Rain date is Sunday , May 23
Show and shine admission $10
Drag racing& show and shine $20
Swap meet vendors set-up fee $10

These prices are for the whole weekend and are per-car.

Well cool you guys are coming to my home town ..

 

I'll be there. Stude won't be ready yet, but might haul it up there anyway.

 

Hope to have good attendance .As far as I know , nothing else going on around here that weekend . We are spreading the word , should be a blast .

 

Damn it, I saw Mt Vernon and thought the Swindlers were setting up some illegal street racing in Washington! And trading parts too!

I could be wrong but I think this is the same weekend as the springfield swap meet and Blacktopbandits HAMB get together????

I've often driven by this track on weekends and seen the smoke off of the staging lane. Lots of accomodations in the area.

I'll be there with the new woody, I had a blast last year!!! There should be 4 or 5 of my non-hamb buddies too. I might trailer up the 60s altered barn find that I just came across.
