ok heres the prob i cant decide on my paint for my 56 gasser i want candy red . but can decide on the two tone was going to do traditional red and white but am second guessing that now any ideas ? i am think all red will be to blah looking
i just see so many red and white i want it to stand out do you think being gassered would set it a part from the resto cars
Red and white looks perfect on these cars, but then again everyone has one. In my opinion all black for that killa look. Black is beautiful
What about gold with the candy red. Not a bright gold, but kind of a muted gold or soft gold. I saw this gold paint at the Goodguys show in Phoenix. Check it out. At the end of the day... It's your car paint it to make YOU happy, no one else. Don't know about you... But i like the looks of the gold over red on your '56 Chev gasser. Have A Great Day!!!
Why not shoot a whole cover coat of candy over two different base colours? Or fade out from silver to black? This will make your candy go from bright sparkely red to deep shaddow and sinister maroon. Needs a little practise, but if you have a steady hand, fade-outs aren't that hard to master. Just one pass, mix in a little black, another pass, a bit more black.... Or, spray your 2 different colours, then reduce your black right down (like 60/40 or more) then close down your mixture, open the fan and dust a haze across the lighter colour where it meets the darker one. This would look good if you wanted to follow the factory trim lines in your 2-tone scheme.
You may already have it painted by now, but this paint scheme on a 210 is my favorite. Black where the blue is, on this one, and white also looks good. This car is one of my favorite 56s.
Here is my thought not many 56's like it. Everything looks good dressed in black. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=971977&stc=1&d=1273456369
