They don't survive down here well, for sure.

On the other hand there were jewels on this farmsteads 3 day auction.

EarlJ02, thanks for the post, man! The pic is a classic. Most really early salvage yard shots don't show people, so there's something important missing, you know? I love the pic. Like so many old photos, they fade over time. Shame. BUT, just like the fading old-time junkyards, it's GREAT to see 'em again, before they fade away . . . for good.

LordMayhem, welcome to the HAMB! Sounds as though you surely have the ability to conceptualize and build hotrods and/or customs.

Is/are there particular body styles, makes and eras of project cars you are interested in? I have some ideas for you (and other HAMBers can probably help too with pointers), but this thread covers virtually ALL of North America and several nations around the world, so it would help if we could "narrow things down a bit," as to what you are looking for.

HAMBer Benzine recently posted this mystery PhotoBucket that he said is rumored to be in either Belgium or Finland. (That sure hides it well, eh? LOL) Great eclectic mix of U.S and European cars, and the owners have obviously tried to keep as much as possible under roof, too! Benzine said the pics are from someone who goes by the handle "AudioMobile." WARNING: There are over 400 pix in this bucket, so if you don't have at least an hour to enjoy a virtual tour . . . DON'T GO THERE!

I don't think these were posted on this thread before. If so,
please excuse my screw-up. If not, enjoy a gander at 'em!

vintage tin find. Cool thread Jeff has! Posted Oct. 30, '09. Go check it out at
thread, "Good stuff in the woods since the 1960's."

Light can really make for a good photo, and the late-afternoon sun was in HAMBer
Joe Grippo's favor when he snapped these old warriors at a yard called Flemming's.
Worth dialing up his whole thread, "Projects Sitting and Rotting," to see the virtual
tour of the whole yard and some others Joe visited! Thanks, Joe! Fun stuff.

HAMBer Kellys Hot Rod of Wisconsin posted this deuce on another VT thread,
simply titled, "Abandoned Car Pics." In its simplicity, it is just fun to look at.
Good to know it survived to modern days!

HAMBer NHBandit got these shots in his native New Hampshire, out in the woods.
Frankie, this is one of our artsy-fartsy pix, isn't it? The light is really cool in the
pines there! Worth seeing the whole thread, just entitled, Abandoned Car Pics.

BTW, he wondered if this is a Plymouth/Dodge. I'm thinking IF SO, it would have to be '36 or earlier. Input???

Wow, Bob, I like the way you handled each and every one of these! Extremely creative use of enhanced colors!!! You took "lonley" old automobiles and made something beautiful, even quite artful, out of them again! NICE work, man, and I thank you for your time and energies!

I see something to appreciate in how you approached each one, though I know taste is subjective, and not every HAMBer is going to like every single one of these, of course. I appreciate that you worked with that '36 Dodge in the deep woods there, man. First you enhanced a dim pic and made it keen and crisp. Then, you "experimented" with some pretty exaggerated colors. I compliment your talent!

BTW, BOB, do ever sell any of your work? If so, how would a HAMBer get in touch to get, maybe, a framable print?

If anybody asks me, I say long-time HAMBer & car nut FordNutz (Pat) of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, lives in a little piece of Heaven on earth! Not only are he and his wife and kids ALL auto-addicts, Pat has a site dedicated to helping others get old Vintage Tin BACK on the roads & highways (http://vintagetin.multiply.com/). He has several great albums he posted some two years back. When I ran across them, I spent quite a long, enjoyable time checking out the low-rust stuff up his way. I think it's worth posting some of the choicest pix again, on this VT-dedicated thread. Enjoy! (FYI, some of this is on a friend's land, and not all cars are still there.)

I am more than willing to do custom work for people. I would need a photograph with no copywrights and we would go from there. Anyone can PM me for more info.

Hello friends, here in Brazil we have many junkyards very interesting. But also "produce" small-scale, many of its models just inspired by your pictures, like this topic ...

M3mourph3us, I am glad to see your post here. You communicate just fine, so don't let a language barrier prevent you from joining in car discussions with yout fellow HAMB members.

The little junk yard car diaramas are popular with a lot of people in the United States, too. So I am sure that yours will be enjoyed!

Now, you mentioned that you have many automobile junk yards in Brazil. If you are able, please shoot a few photographs and post them here.

Since you joined in early 2009, may I say a belated WELCOME !

Jimi'shemi really, it took me a while to start posting here but mainly for being too troubled by "small service" here! Tour almost daily in 3 forums diecasts here in Brazil, administer one for the "gauchos" here in our state (Rio Grande do Sul), do much research on the web rust textures, finishes and shades in this area and to complete I have a 5 year old daughter who loves to be with me in moments of "facelifts or customizations" on the weekends we spent together ... The issue of language in order to post here, was never a problem, but lack of time, apart from the Customs contests that I participate in forums of other states, which already had two winning works in 1st Place in their categories.

So over time, I promise to post something here on this topic is, like the one on "Rusty Job" as we call detailing that simulates the deterioration of the models, per hour, and feel free to visit my album also serves as a Showcase .. . Hehehe.

And the address of our forum ...
