A friend of mine called me to come try and help him sell some old cars. In the field I found two cars that I was unsure about. One seems to be a relatively compete model A roadster the other is whats left of a four door sedan. I was hoping I could post some pics and the knowledgable guys on here could tell me what he had.
X2... the sedan is definately a mopar. Look for an oval alum tag on the firewall that should say DeSoto, or Ply or Chrysler
I was thinking 1928 on the roadster, it still has the flathead four, transmission and rear end. I'll check the mopar for the tag. Whats a reasonable price for me to ask someone to haul them off?
No tag on the mopar, I can see where it might have been. There is a knob on the dash that says "freewheeling IN", though.
The second one looks like a '31 Chrysler , I have a cowl that is identical to the one shown but could be a year or two earlier. The body line in the middle of the windshield cowl goes to a point towards the middle as does the line in the sunvisor. Rob.
Haha, sorry. I meant, what's would be a reasonable asking price to sell them to someone willing to come pick them up.
The sedan is a 31 Plymouth .... same dash and body lines as my coupe. The rear window should be oval shape...
..also on the sedan; look for the large VIN tag on the pass side front door post between the hinges. It will say SERIAL NUMBER xxxxxx. Some states like mine, you can register a no title car if you have a legal unaltered VIN tag...
Funny to see that the roadster is stripped of just about all the accesories but the gas cap is still there.
There is a suprising amount of pieces still with the car, the head has been pulled and is still in the car as well as the headlight bar. I thought it was a pretty interesting find.
If the A has a engine block, it has the sereial number stamped in it, that is the VIN, and that is how I got my registration. Tracing of the VIN and DMV does a search and if it isn't in use then it's yours and you apply for a lost registration, and insure it so it can be liscensed and you get a current registration.... then you do the easy part, make a traditional rod out of it. Too bad some goon broke off a frame horn.
It depends on who you ask really, this ones pretty rusty I think $1,200 is pretty fair. if he's willing to part it out he could probably make a few more dollars. I just want the body.
