    Thanks guy's,
James D, it's really taking on the look I was hoping for.
40fordtudor, I hear you brother. I will be looking forward to your build thread.
It is nice being able to work on the rod with the garage door open and no heater running. I cranked up my stereo yesterday with the Drifters and Chuck Berry, and before I knew it, welds were smooth!:D
Just to see how close this is to paint program.

Really close so far. Once I remove a section it should look wicked.

tub in da dirt, there is going to be about 14'' left of those openings. I am waiting till after I remove the section, mainly to get an exact fit without wasting any new metal. Thanks for your thought.

I got a few things done today, I have both sides tacked in and the roof.
    [IMG][IMG]
I just wanted to see how the front end would look at this point.
[IMG] Gonna take some getting used to.
Heres a pic as I was closing the garage for the evening.
[IMG] The line up is awesome, but I really dont care for that front end! More pics as I progress.

Thanks guy''s, I have decided not to use that front end.
That sounds like a cool idea koolkemp. Let me know when you start that project.
Im not sure at this point what I will use, but im positive it wont be that front clip.
It is to huge and bulky looking, even if I narrow the fenders it wouldn't suit the new look the panel has. Guess I need to get creative. :D

Shame - I thought it suited the rounded body.

I have did a few things with this front end position over the last 3 days. Body height is playing a big roll in the look. I have had this panel at several heights before I found the one that really suits the look. I will be mounting the body to the frame and I will also be useing the front clip. I just needed to step back and not be quick to judge first look. The amature side of me I guess.:D

The late 30s to 40ish frontend would look wicked without a doubt and I think thats what you kind of started out wanting to do but the one you have will be cool if you have decided to use it for sure..............sorry:D

Thanks low budget. you're right, if I could have found a 40 front clip that would have been awesome. I will post some pics as I progress.

I finally got to get a few things done today. I thought I would check the fit of the dash I cut and formed. It's just sitting in place, not welded.[IMG]
[IMG]. I bought a bead roller, so after a test run, I will be trying a bead across the bottom of the dash.
I also started on the filler panels. I have the drivers side tacked in [IMG] and here is a down the side view to see the metal form.[IMG]. I got the p***enger side filler panel tacked in except for the front and bottom.[IMG] I will have the windshield and rear doors fitted with Gray smoke gl*** Saturday. Got a great deal on cut and installation. More pic's as I progress.

    Patrick46, Right on!!!
DMFB I couldn't agree more, this front end really has me on the fence as far as useing it or not.
spinalremains, it's been about 20 yrs since my last build. Once I tore into this panel, I realized how much I missed it. My daughter is 26 and is enjoying the learning experience. When she gets the time to work on this with me its so comical and I love every minute. Im blessed to have quick learning kids that love old vehicles.

Thanks guys for your post. These really help me stay into my project.
I made the front p***enger side body mount yesterday. I have the cowl mounted to the frame. I will take pics today. The mid mounts look really close to the original body mount that is lined up nice. Im excited that I will have windshield and back door gl*** tomorrow. Smoke gray tint, should look awesome. I will post pics my progress.

Here are the front body mounts I did yesterday bolted into place. I made the p***.side mount.[IMG][IMG]. I still have to remove the old frame mounts from the sides.

I played with my bead roller and made a bead across the bottom of the dash. I also cut out for the cluster.[IMG][IMG].

Since I'm getting the new windshields tomorrow, I cleaned up the windshield frame and shot some primer.[IMG].
I also chopped and welded the center bar for the split windshield.[IMG]. More pic's as I progress.

Thats a very good idea koolkemp, I will be removing the back door gl*** to finish my work. The main thing is I will already have my gl*** to go back in.The split windshield is sealed in, so I will use your idea to protect it. Thanks for the idea. This really gave the panel a more at***ude look.

I meant to mention to you an idea for your front end that would give the truck a whole different look...have you thought about a set of canted quad headlights for it :D...I have always wanted to do that to one of those jailbar Fords...61 Chrysler or 58 Lincoln...59 Chevy in tunneled housings !
