My memory must be slipping, I was 13 at the time. I remember seeing his chopped 79 malibu in Springfield Ohio KKOA show. Beautiful paint job, I need to learn how to post pic`s.
Glad you like it guys, i think its pretty well done and the stripes are gorgeous. So whos got more pics and info about this car?
Lets try to get this thread up n runnin again! Heres a few more Jap lows. Theyre all from Ace kustoms shop, now im not sure who, but one or more members of the Kings run the Ace shop, and the work is flawless! These are taken from their site but the link is of my Fotki page, that im still settin up , as soon as i have a net connection home again it will grow fast! as for now i update now and then, all of the locked folders are so because im still sortin'em and i'd like to make everything nice and clear b4 i open up to the masses. Free to take a look but theres really not much to look at right now. In time i'd like to make a "clubs" folder w/ all of the Boulevardos cars, Strays cars, and all of those clubs that are runnin REAL og lows to these days, other than what i have already started, old picture scans, magazine scans, gribble photography, any car worth a feature album and a big folder on the Jap scene!....jeeeez i type waaaay mucho! Keep'em coming! http://public.fotki.com/bonez666/japlolows/ace-kustoms--kings-cc/
Thanx E ! yeah sure, dont care much for birthdays but had a good day w/ my beautiful girl! Now! This is my 666th post! so i wanted it to be epic, not the "yeah cool i love it" or "are radials alright" kinda post So, heres some random stuff from my stash, which eventually will all get to my fotki archive all sorted and in the right folder.....i hope soon! Enjoy the trip back in the 70s!
That 1969 Fastback is killing me! Too funny. But I must say that those cars are some serious works of art.
It looks like his back wheel is tucked in/cambered pretty bad..... I think he's pullin a very violent 3 wheel! I remember seeing a late 70s olds in the UK that could pull the baddest rear 3 wheel ever and the upper wheel looked just like it. I see if i can find a pic. Pretty strange though! We might never know.......like we care!
I'm surprised at how level the front is (rear body too), considering how cocked the rear axle is. Thanks
San Fernando. Corner of Meyer and San Fernando Rd. Car wash in the background. Majers Liquor on the right corner. Weird, I was just on that corner about an hour and half ago. Who remembers Jungle Chicken?!?
just noticed the car wash good eye eryk! and of course i remember jungle chicken, deep fried half chicken and french fries in a cardboard box slide into a paper bag if i remember correctly. GOOD as fuck
The Olds above probably has two way cylinders, like on a front end loader. There used to be a little honda civic a local guy had, that had them. They have a hose that feeds the top of the cylinder to raise it and another hose that feeds the cylinder right below the piston part of the shaft so fluid could force the cylinder back into the down position. He could raise the whole car up, then suck one of the wheels off the ground, or even wag the rear wheel up and down like a dog scratching with his back leg.
They also make'em for air. And i just recently discovered they were also used in the 70s. 1st quicky i found, check the rear wheel moves! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6T3ur7DI1I&feature=related Called air cylinders and can suck up the wheel too! Pretty fkn rad! Infact i would like to add them to at least my front end. Anyone who has this set up on a on topic car care to show us sum pics?
Apparently this Poncho here, is the 1st car that Watson laced. True? Pretty bitchin anyway. Some more old school ponchos from our very own timeline
And now to the good stuff This one's for Junior. Pretty bitchin! no? I bet yours will be at least this sweet.
I thought that was SF Blvd but could not tell. Used to cruise the "mall" in the 80's, then when they closed it down we would go to Laurel by In n out Remember Jungle Chicken was in the Movie "Boyz in Da Hood"??? good eye Eryk
Peoples? I bought my shoes there for a few years. Damn, I haven't heard that name in over forty years! And getting glasspacks at Cohea's Muffler...
I remember Danny's Dogs! the one in San Fernando was the low rider hang out and the one in Sun Valley (S.F. Rd and Sunland) was the Racers hang out..... and good Hot Dogs .....
