    Your statements don't make total sense;
    honestly anyone that is telling him to sell it based on the fact that he is considering getting something else that he can enjoy immediately can go pound sand. He stated that he was thinking of this because he had grown weary and can't find the time to work on it. He also said that he wanted something he could drive NOW. Look everyone gets different pleasures out of this hobby and if driving is your main pleasure and it is going to be another 5 years before he can do that, why shouldn't he sell this one, enjoy a car now and build something else later? In fact maybe that will inspire him to do a build later on.
    He came here for advice, not a verbal bashing by people that are either retired and have all the time in the world or can afford to drop 10 grand in a motor or have someone else do it for them. I think the majority of the responses have been giving advise, which is kind of like opinions - everyone has one. Not sure where you got the retired, all the time in the world or 10 grand part from, I didn't get that out of any of the responses.
    That is pretty rotten to tell him to just sell it because he isnt a true hot rodder. I'll agree with you there, who the hell are they to judge?
    maybe the folks that are posting this kind of garbage should sell their cars because a true hot rodder would help a fellow car enthusiast out by giving him helpful advice I think that most were trying to give real advise, whether others agree with it or not. Forget about the bashers, they are the minority and you were starting to get dragged down to their level in your response.

    Everyone get frustrated, or loses motivation from time to time. Building a car takes a real commitment of time and money. I personally like building more than driving, but driving is pretty good too. Whenever I get pissed off at my car, or lose motivation. I come here. So many inspirational people doing so many great things, it's hard not to get excited.

    If you're really into the car you can either: mothball it for awhile, be happy getting just a little bit at a time done, or find a friend to help you finish it (that's what I'm currently doing.) If you're not that into the car then you could sell it and take care of your family stuff right now, then get something you really like later. You might want to keep in mind that this isn't a really great time to sell a car due to the economy and that any old car you buy is going to require that you dedicate a lot of time to it regardless of how nice or complete it seems when you buy it.

    Your gonna wake up some morning, blink a couple times and realize your kids are gone and dont have time for you. They'll have their own lives.
    Happened to me. Thats just life. Just put on the back burner for a while with the flame real low.

    You should hole your car at a friends house for a few years, or in your yard, or garage, and leave it alone. Your kids only do these things once. Asking if you should sell is the kiss of death. A part of you has already thrown in the towel, and the rest of you is trying to justify why not to.

    I've been working on my 32' off and on since 92' and would NOT think of selling or trading it for anything. If I don't finish it my kids can.

    Keep it... it'll be one more car us young bucks can vulture off you guys when you get old. If you sell it now... someone will hack it and we'll lose another one.
