Ever see a steam train in downtown L.A.? They ran this one at 6th and Main St to celebrate VJ Day in 1945 on the street car tracks. I am back now got to find some photos to add to this thread.
NICE Merc. coming out of Pershing Sq. Garage which is under Pershing Sq. Park in 1954. NICE C.O.E. coming out too, in 1954 whoever thought that C.O.E.'s would be popular?
Pershing Sq. Park has under gone many facelifts over the decades. The parking garage has been built and the park back in shape for this one. The hotel on the left is the Biltmore Hotel where the Black Dahlia murder victim was last seen alive in 1947.
Sunset and Broadway and the Broadway tunnel in the back ground. The tunnel and hill were later removed along with many graves.
Mickey Cohen's car was Built by CoachCraft ltd. in Hollywood I worked for Coachcraft back in the late 80's early 90's and saw alot of photo albums of coachbuilt cars that were built there from 1939-1950's and remember seeing the build pictures of this car! it was fully bullet proofed
