Projects F.E.D. Build, Y not a Y-Block

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mctim64, Apr 11, 2010.

  1. When I filled the block I also installed tubes running from the original feed holes in the block up to the heads. So with an electric water pump and the head gaskets on backwards the water will circulate front to back and come out the p***ages in the heads. You can see the return lines in this pic.

  2. Thanks! I have a good time doing it!

I like your avitar! Funny movie, not many remember it, kinda just disappeared. I have the sound track, some good music. ;)

    Your car looks great.

The only advice I have is to keep your 'blueprints " rolled up and away from sunlight when you are not using them.

They are probably light-sensitive so they can't be used over and over.

    They will fade in sight.

If you put them on a copy machine it will blank the picture out immediately.

Man nothing sound like a Y block. Yours sounds like one of the best.
    Thats an amazing build.

  5. I roll it up every time, you can see the edges still curl. ;)

    Thanks!

If it all works out everyone can see Tims Eagle Field runs LIVE! Were are working on a simul-cast live show called Chillin with Bobby Joe http://www.chillinwithbobbyjoe.xbuild.com/ It's too complicated for me to explain but Bobby is supposed to explain it to us here soon.

  9. Well now the pressure is really on. :D I'll be working on it tonight and the rest of the week, or untill Kathy gets pissed at me and says come to bed. ;)

More pictures to come this weekend. I need to work on my trailer too.

  13. It's a Mark Williams blueprint, used it for a guideline and made it my own. It's sposed to be 200" but we shorten it to 140", it was the cage that mattered. Wanted to be up to date and legal but still try to look somewhat "Old school". I hope it turns out that way. :D

    Nice rail!!!!

BTW We started with water in the block, but now I run dry. Not having it set on KILL (mixture wise) helps alot. Oh yeah that and Methanol.

I gotta show yours to my buddy that helps me run my car - he's a bit of a Y-block fan - he's gonna LOVE seeing yours!!!

  19. What a treat!
First, the great FED build pics.
Then, the Y-block startup video -- agree with everybody that it's positively the coolest!

  20. Thanks! Maybe My next project should be a T-Bucket with a Y in it.

  24. I like that! :D Even has some Hilborn stacks peeking out there. ;)

  25. The work for today was slow but some progress was made. Gas pedal is done, battery is mounted and the seat has been started. The seat was a real pain in the..... pun intended, it just takes time to fit.

Dude, your killin me with all the talk about a Y powered bucket. Especially with Hilborn injection. But I would expect nothing short of that on one of your builds.

P.S. the rail is looking AWSOME.
