Hi, Thought y'all would like to see a shoebox finally completed! 1951 ford custom, chopped 3 in with a station wagon roof, 91 lincoln 4.6 ohc fuel injected AOD, 9 in posi, custom grill of my own design made from the bumper guards and mounted upside down, bumpers narrowed 2 inches and turned upside down. Lots of other work, lots to list but this is good for now. OH YEAH! I BUILT IT MYSELF, EVERYTHING MODIFIED TOO, EVERY THING WORKS, when i build I do not buy anything aftermarket, I use the parts from a donor car, this was a 1991 Lincoln Town Car that gave its life for a hot rod, Its heart still beats.

You know what? That thing is cool and let me tell you why. You built it yourself, with your own two hands not your checkbook. And really, just because it's "done" doesn't mean it's done, right? Great work!

a different set of wheels/tires, ditch (or fix) the flames, and you'll have my vote.

don't like to post negative about others cars but i think what the problem is, you said you used a station wagon roof which is long and flat. the roof shape should be rounded. if you enlarge the first picture, the roof looks way to flat and to long to the top edge of the rear window. in the other two pictures, especially the third pic, the roof looks flat in the center, not enough curve. again, not to be an ***, just trying to put a finger on what others are seeing. good luck, jerseymike

  14. YOU BUILT IT THE WAY YOU LIKE IT, there will always be others who don't like it or even hate it, SO WHAT!! Enjoy the ride now. I bet it looks mean as hell comiig up behind in the rear view.
I see hundreds of custom cars and rods every year that are not my cupa, but I still enjoy seeing everyones different ideas, and I would never say a negative thing about a one of them.
Take a look thru some of the early small custom car mags, you will see everything from **** ugly to fine full kustoms, even George Barris and Ed Roth created some that fit in the "**** Ugly" category!

Yeah its different alright, but thats the way to build, different than what everybody calls the NORM, instead of a chevy or a merc grill, a bubble top, or a 350-350 I made it different, The flames are Kustom Flat black metallic and sterling silver metallic then clear coated. Kustom paint superstore, If every body in the world was perfect, the world would full of perfect ***holes.

it's pretty funky, I like the style you went for with the colors, grille, & caps. personally, I would go different with the roof and flames, but it ain't mine. I say good on ya man!:D

No matter what you build, some will like it others will not. Like the song says " you got to please yourself".

The best part is that you did it yourself and will always have the satisfaction of knowing that you took your build all the way to completion. How many guys can say that. I say GOOD JOB DUDE!!!!!!!

Honestly, I know you're proud of it, and you should be, it's a nice car, and you've done a lot of work on it, all yourself. But being different isn't always good. Seriously, stand back and take a long hard look at that roof, and be honest with yourself, does it really improve the flow of the car? I hope you didn't throw the old one away, I'd consider putting the crown back in, you'd only have to repaint the top. Either that or prepare yourself to hear a lot of negative comments about that squashed roof, and judging by the "tone" of that ^ post, I don't think you're gonna be able to shrug it off.
    No offense intended.
