Perfect. I love the top's color and height, it looks so right now that it's cut down a bit.

This is my favorite version. I like the overhang on the top and I like the height on this one too. It's just so fucking classy and the entire package is screaming style and class with a good dose of Hoodlum in for good measure.

I agree with Jeffery James, I think the overhang is cool but, could present a problem catching air? I think if you can find a way to keep the overhang it definitely looks better. As for the height, I think the limit is the top you your head when seated, lower is better.

The overhangs stays, that's just the way the stock header is built. With the seat reworked, I could feasibly chop it as much as I wanted to. Even with my tall height, there's about a foot between my head and headliner. Alas, I'm going with a mild chop like I photoshopped but I probably won't get into doing that until later this summer.

Cool, yeah I think get that fucker running and wait to chop that later in the year. Jealous to say the least. I wish I had a Hot Rod running.

Haha, I guess that just depends on who you get it from!:eek::p

This morning I spent about 3 hrs hanging the doors, shimming the body to align them, etc... They still need adjustment. ...but they do open and close!!

I decided to stop bodywork for the time being and get the thing running and driving. I can pick away at the dash and decklid if I have time over the next few weeks, but if I'm gonna make the showdown, I gotta get a few shakedown miles on the car before diving into a 700+ mile trip. I still have to colorsand the doors, greille shell, and headlights, finish the seat, finish the wiring, install new kingpins and bushings, build a battery box, vent the tank, etc, etc, etc...

So if you're attending the showdown, this is probably how you'll see it... Lumpy dash, crusty old grille insert, primer decklid and all. That is... unless I get all the mechanical stuff ironed out sooner than expected.

    pics...

I can hear in your reply that you are making excuses like we are going to be disappointed that the car is not 100% finished. Let me tell you my friend that this is the nicest car that anyone that I have known has built and you should be super proud of this fucker even if it came in on a flatbead tow truck. It's THAT nice.

So do what ever it takes to get it to the show. All the rest does not matter.

Thanks man, those are some strong words! I'm still super psyched, and it's come a long way in 6 months or so, but I was just hoping to be a little further along you know? There is a slim chance that I might get it all one color, but at this point I realize that I need to prioritize a bit and get the important stuff done. Otherwise the car is going to be nice and pretty, but sitting in the garage because I didn't have time to iron out an important mechanical issue or something.

Plus, I'm just aching to drive the little sonofabitch!:D

Lookin good, I can't wait to see it next month!

It may be an optical illusion, but does your windsheild hit something on the dash if its closed all the way?
If not you may run into a problem at higher speed where the wind pushes it backwards into the steering wheel...

Thanks Zach, I'm pretty sure it can't swing all the way back in. I'll have to look at it more closely. I know when it's closed it's close. I have a piece of weatherstrip that goes on the bottom of the frame to seal that area up a bit too. If it doesn't I know an easy fix for that problem! whack, whack!

Thanks man, I ain't done yet!

That would be fine by me! Anyone want to buy a roadster? You can have it any way you want as long as it's exactly the way I want to build it! lol...

I'll say it... Your car is the finest A roadster on '32 rails that I've seen in a long while... and it's not even done yet!
