Classic Truck vs. Custom Classic Truck Magazines - Difference?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DanBabb, Apr 13, 2010.

  1. Just got an email with an offer for 1 year for $15. I'd like to get one, but what's the difference between these two pubs?

    Here's the publisher's description:

Cl***ic Trucks is the only true cl***ic truck publication dedicated to pre-1980 custom and restoration truck builders. A must for fans of cl***ic iron.

Custom Cl***ic Trucks focuses on cosmetic and performance restoration of American-manufactured vintage pickups, panels, and deliveries through 1977. With extensive coverage of parts and services, this magazine is the only ***le that speaks to both rodders and hard-core truck builders.

Based on these descriptions...I'm leaning toward Custom Cl***ic Trucks.

Anyone have an opinion on which one to choose?

I prefer Vintage Truck, but, then again look at my avatar.

In all serious, head to the store and flip thru each or at least check out their website and see which one appears to tailor more to what you want to do to your truck.

  3. Go with Cl***ic Trucks. Better quality & much better tech articles.

I only buy Custom Cl***ic Trucks if I happen to see one at the news stand & it looks like there is something interesting inside. I always thumb through it first though.
9 times out of 10, I put it right back.

cl***ic truck in my opinion is better. custom cl***ic truck has too much street roddish **** in it. cl***ic truck has more hot rod stuff in it.

Before this gets shut down I'll put in my 2 cents.

Custom Cl***ic Trucks is my choice although I get both of them.

I used to get both and found that they usually had a lot of the same tech articles and quite often duplicate feature trucks. I ended up going with Custom and Cl***ic trucks as
It has more of what I am interested in. Unless you are just into stock trucks or need another source for hunting parts I can't get excited over Vintage Truck that Big T mentioned. I keep checking it out at the local Borders but have never found one interesting enough to spend the money that they ask. But different strokes for different folks and it would be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing 100%.

  13. More votes for Cl***ic Truck, so that's what I went with.

    Thanks for the opinions.
