My wife and I wish Asia the best; a donation has been sent. Please let her know that because of her tragedy we have finally purchased seat belts for our '49.

I'm in bad financial straights myself but would like to do something to help so I sent Ryan a PM offering up my oakland roadster show trophy parts as a gift/donation and if he gets the message and bites I'll send them to him to offer up in some fund raising fashion of his choice

    see the trophy here

Just so everybody knows Asia Tuchsen has been in the hot rod scene for a long time. This was her everyday driver, she has no newer car, that she works on herself. She is not just a SoCal employee, she's the real deal.

The Sacramento chapter Poor Boys is donating $500 to her recovery and is challenging, in the old telethon spirit, all other clubs to do the same.

We will deliver the money at the show on the 25th. Also if you can e-mail me the flier, I will post it on our web site and MySpace pages.

But she does have another car. As in a carson topped 49 ford shoebox that is a done car.
Just so there isnt any confusion as to her not having transportation.
    Get well asia

True, I didn't mean to imply that she didn't have any other transportation, just that she is a hot rod girl and only drives classic autos.

But your first post said she had no insurance...?
Anyway, there is a lesson here for many of us: get health insurance if you can, and put seatbelts in your car -- you never know when you'll need them.

And most of all, thoughts and prayers for Asia. Get well soon.

i think some people may not be realizing there is a difference between HEALTH insurance and AUTOMOBILE insurance.

you are required by law to have auto insurance when you drive.

you are not required to have health insurance. i pay $700 a month for my families health insurance but im a 2 income family. this isnt always the case or just flat out isnt affordable to some people.

  19. That is true, but I know all my auto policies have Medical coverage and it is not my health insurance that kicks in in an accident, it is my Medical coverage portion of my auto policy.

At lease have classic car insurance with an agreed value. Liability only on her car is probably more a month than what Hagerty or Grundy charges for a year.

i do know that auto insurance covers injuries to the other involved party but i dunno about it covering medical on yourself  guess ill have to look at my policy

those classic car insurance people are a rip off. they might be somewhat cheaper but they limit the miles you can drive your car among many other things. who the hell wants that??

ive got AAA coverage, been real good to us so far

    Here's the trophy parts

I'm not sure how to go about it. Ryan says go ahead put it up so I'm thinking an auction thread or something?
I'm not an alliance member and havn't had any personal dealings with any HAMB'ers yet...
For security...I figgure DrZ or another alliance member helping with the collection can accept the funds for Asia and I can ship it to them to reship or mail it directly to who won/bought it.
Gotta get that all hashed out before starting a thread on it.

One of my best friends from school days, (someone who really loves old cars too) bought it on a trip down to Texas we were on... and later owed me ALOT of money over some bad business.
He later dropped back onto the face of the earth and faced me about it saying he was at zero% and had nothing else but an apology for taking advantage of a good friend and no way to pay me back but was really sorry and offered me the trophy parts as it was all he had.

He had disassembled it on a drunk and lost the rest of it before he sobered up, this is all there is left...

I forgave him along time ago so for just an old piece of hotrod junk it has a bit of meaning for patching things up, it should go on that way.
I tried selling it for money for myself and have had no luck so maybe it's got some other destiny.
It ain't doing anyone any good sitting in my bookcase...

  24. Love the A-V8 poster, but I would rather have a poster of the first photo with Asia's autograph. A true hot rod girl and her pride and joy.

I wish her a speedy recovery and a good resolution to her financial situation.

If Cali is like most states and has "no fault" insurance, it is her coverage that would pay the medical bills. The insurance of the liable person in an accident takes care of the auto damage. If the other driver was insured she should be able to get compensated for the damages to the car. If not I wish her luck. Don't ask how I know.

Alright then consider it an official auction as of now.
I guarantee delivery, on my word shipping paid by me.
Dr Z... you maestro the end of the Auction and handle that part of it and let it rip...

just tell me where and when and it's shipped

  30. As soon as I get home I will have the wife send out a check to aid in Asia's recovery. May God Bless!
