Ok, I know this may not be to HAMB friendly, but I know there are lots of good tech guys here some hopefully you guys can help. I have a friend who wants to chop, lower and shorten his 58 ford. What are the major problems you see in doing this. I know we have to shorten the box and frame, box and c notch the frame. Chopping the roof is not gonna be hard, just time consuming, he is gonna take the glass to a local guy that will cut it it. I also got to flip the front axle. Any ideas would be welcome. I have attached a pic on what he wants
I don't see any proposed problems other than those years pickups don't look great with a chop, (But that's just my oppion ) Might look cool though... the photoshop version looks neet!
If the photo chopped picture is what he plans on building then i vote no. A mild chop, about two inches, would look okay. I saw one the other day that had a two inch chop and from the front and the rear you couldn't tell it was chopped. From the side it looked really good. Just enough to look different but not cartoonish.
