    I stopped at the ch***is shop today to check out some new progress. The back bars are in. As you can see in the pics they will be removeable. The the door bars will be also. Looks like everything is about roughed in, almost time to blow the cab apart for final welding.

    Great job on this build. I love these old drag trucks. I'd love to see some pics of your truck lined up against Littleman's. HAMB Drags?

    I'm up for that, but I think Littleman retired his truck from drag duties. I would love to hit the HAMB drags next year. We'll see how it goes.

    He is going to weld threaded bungs inside of the door bar. Then it will bolt through the main hoop and front bars. That's also how the back bars will bolt to the ch***is. I'll post up some pics as soon as it's done.

    I finally finished the welding on the intake. I still have some grinding to do to clean up the ports and mill the flanges. Also the cage is getting closer I stopped there today and it should be very soon. I'm like a crack addict going through withdrawl, I can't wait to get it home.

    Here's the inside of the plenum I built ramps to direct the airflow.

    All welded up, I burned almost 2 pounds of rod building it. I would bet I welded more on the intake then the frame.

    Today was the first time I've seen it on the truck. I couldn't be more pleased. I even got an atta boy from my grumpy ch***is builder.

    Thanks, Jimmy does do very nice work ,I couldn't be happier with what he's done. You just got to be patient!! Oh well it's not like I haven't had work to do. He told me you said I need an 8" motor setback. I guess I could if I could figure out how to section 8" out of my legs. Ha Ha

    i love this build, but one question. On your down bar mounting flanges at the cab.....how many flanges are in the process? I see one in the interior, and one on the down tube, BUT is there one or two on the body itself so the paint on the cab doesn't get destroyed? It looks like there is one in the last photo. Just a point of curiosity for me is all.

    There is one in the cab and one outside the cab per bar. I asked how he is going to attach the down bars to the frame and I got a not sure. I doubt the bars will ever come off once it's painted so if the paint gets scratched you'll never see it.

    We're pretty lucky around here. I only live about 15 minutes from Thompson. Which is where they ran the g***er reunion for years. Also Norwalk is a 1-1/2 hours away. Plus there is 42 and Quaker which are close.

    I don't have much to add as far as progress, but I got to bring the 34 home today. The cage turned out really nice. I'm super stoked to have it back in the garage. The wife all ready caught me sitting in it making vroom vroom noises.

    I'm going to take a full week off of work soon and try to hammer out a bunch of stuff. Dropping in the motor and getting a fuel system plumbed so I can fire this monster.
