Man... that kicks ASS. I like that you're using the busted '39 case! All real hot rods have some 'iffy' parts on them!
J, Was the option of a replacement steel firewall ever considered? Like what HotTurkey did on his '32. I think he switched his cause it was flat, yours seems to have a more 'correct' style to it. But just wondering if you thought about it. Great work, 2,010 % better then what you started with. Jeff
I agree 100% ,..... Hey Frankie !, you can't sleep, because, except for the engine choice (which I thoroughly DIG !), he is building the car you described to me,that YOU wanted to build for decades !,..... Maybe it's time to get "Itchy". As they use to say,..... "Wrap your A** in Fiberglass !"
I love the fact that you repaired the case. That's what a Hotrod guy would have done in the past! Mostly cause the cars were built on a budget...
You mentioned that the frame was a TCI. I wonder if the frame is close to a stock '33-34? The reason I ask is that 90% of the aftermarket frames you find are designed for the MII stuff. Just wondering if you had to modify your buggy spring crossmember to make it fit the frame? You made it look really easy..... Just wondering how everything went together. Kevin
OK, I got trans case repaired and put back together.... so in the morning I will get the flywheel, press. plate and trans in... with paint on trans case you can't tell it was repaired....
Kevin, front cross member was long and had to be trimmed for box frame rails.... but other then that everything seems to fit all the stock 34' stuff.....
Good answer,my friend!!!! hahaha! This is just an amazing transformation! Can't wait to see the before and after pic's together!!!
today we got inner fender aprons so I installed them.... they will need some work to get them right. got the trans in and will make rear trans mount when I get some mounts at pomona this weekend. motor and trans need to to moved back about an inch, I will try and get that done tomorrow. it's a shame the old owner cut the shit out of the floor and firewall!
Car looks great. Nice choice in motor, You should try to fit on of those motors in a stock 34 frame and body. Been working on mine for 2 years now, getting closer: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=443042&showall=1
