This may be worng to do here, but I'm planning on getting rid of parts I'll never use, and was wondering what would be worth? The more I think of it, the more I like steelies on the highboy. These are 14x7 and 14x8. Were Cragars ever made in Mexico? Sorry about the size of the pics -Karl fficeffice" /><O></O>
------------------------------------------------ Huh??? You posted the pic didn't you??? No, absolutely not. All Cragar SS wheels where actually all made in ****olia, in the old, abandoned Henway Motors plant there. They were only stamped "HECHO EN MEXICO" in large, clear, easy to read letters, to fool consumers into thinking the quality was actually far better than it really was, and to aid in smuggling them into the U.S. by fooling U.S. Customs inspectors as to the true country of origin. Jeeze.....ask a stupid question.....get a stupider answer. Mart3406 ==================================
170 a ton at one s**** yard and 200 at the other. Other than that they are worth what you are willing to pay. I'd say that between 100 and 150 for the set is about what they would go for here, less if they have any rust or bad chrome.
IMO the spinners are likely the money there. 14's are getting to be a real PITA to find tires for. Missing centers (2 of them) and being 14's I wouldn't pay any more than $100-$150 for the set. Not having any use for them myself I just can't see much money there. Now excellent 15's would be another story.
If you took them to a swap meet. People would look at them and ask if they were 15's. Upon hearing they weren't, you couldn't get them to take them away if YOU payed them $50. Cragars aren't desirable unless they're 3.5, 4, 10 or 11 inches wide. Not that they're not a good wheel...it's just if they buy the cragars, then they have to buy the camaro.
Well...., I thought the Mexican ones might be Cragar rip offs or somethin. The narrow ones are made in USA. I did a search later on the Team Chevelle site and they explained the Mexico connection. ZB is on target, they did seem like standard issue with any Camaro/Firebird back in the 70's and 80's. I'll post them on the local CL and see if any high school kids will bite. -K
