Stopped by a wrecking yard today, about 20 miles from here, for the first time. Guys had told me the owner doesn't sell the old stuff, but when I ask he didn't say he wouldn't. In one section there was a 34 ford 4-door, a 35 Chevy 4-door, several 40's mopar sedans, a 48 Ford coupe and a 50 Merc 4-door. All have been there for years and are rough and rusting away, but still fixable if you have the time. I will try to take my camera next time.

41 chevy p.u. found in the desert of SE utah where a road had sluffed off the mtn behind it leavin no way out. turns out it belonged to a buddys grampa who left it there in the early 50s when they were prospectin for uranium! still had the "mtn states uranium corp." logo on the doors! we did get a few pieces off it. heres the cutdown dash in the glass tub i sold to buy my steel T body.

Toronado somewhere in the Arizona desert, I took this one and then tripped on an inline 6 head on the way to the truck.

  14. The Studebaker in the opening post... I would give some of my own body parts for one in that starter condition.

A few of my "finds" that are also "not for sale" and rotting away... enjoy!

I've found a few cars over the years that were extremely rough, teetering on returning to earth and just in need of a miracle... the owners were willing to part with them but their prices were... well...

People that just sit on old tin like this just drive me nutz, especially when you offer cash, then five years later, it's almost gone.......

LMFAO This is one of the absolute funniest things I have seen or heard in forever!!!!
But yes, I agree with everyone else, this is a sad post. There's a garage in town by me that has about 6 old coupes and a wrecker sitting around, they never move, not sure if they're for sale, but they're always covered in the winter and uncovered in the summer. I'll have to get some pics maybe tomorrow.... hmmm.....

Mfg 1914-1929. Were known as Republic Yellow Chassis Trucks. The best I can tell the model 75 came about in '21, a 3/4 ton 124"wb.'24 the 75 was 1 and 1/4 ton.'27 the 75,76 were 1 and 1/4 and 2 ton. I hope this helps some. It looks pretty solid in the pics.

  27. I have a friend who has the resources (money, trailers, and property) to follow through on these opportunities. He does it strictly for the thrill of the hunt and to brag that "I have a such and such" leaving them to rot. We've often compared him to a hunter who makes a kill and leaves it for the coyotes. He has no intention of restoring or rodding them, won't sell or trade, and won't give them to his less financially secure, deserving friends who have the skill and time to invest. it's all about the hunt, but I still don't get it either.
