Here is the THINGS? car club logo and plaque. We are a small club in Tucson made up of a few friends.
My club, Wilkes-Barre PA 1960's. NEW plate thanks to O'Brien Truckers who has thousands of old molds.
The Stackers was made by Chicago Metal Craft so it's at least 40 years old (if it's not a pepop). If you want one I'd be glad to make you one - just e-mail me at obt@charter.net. Never seen the Candido's. Dennis
O'Brien Truckers did a great job making these license plate toppers for the Garage Guys. I was anxious to put mine on and need to buff it up a little bit more. Does the shape look vaguely familiar?
Was just looking at some of the older posts on this thread and wonder if you checked with Dennis O'Brien. You didn't mention what it had on the plaque but he has a bunch of Night Prowlers plaque patterns and one of them may be the same as the one you lost, or had stolen.
Is this a real club? If so, can someone send me a larger photo of this plaque so I can add it to the Texas page?
I see i need to do one as well. We have chapters in ontario, alberta, indiana, texas, colorado, and nomads in a few places that might be chapters soon as well.
For those who may be interested ..... With the help of Dennis O'Brien, I created a page on our website that tells some of the history of how car club plaques came to be. You can view the How It Started page by clicking on the link and view examples of some early painted plaques and lowrider plaques. Our site now has over 5,300 different plaque photos and if your traditional type plaque isn't shown, post a photo of it here and it will be added.
Not a car club plaque but along the same concept...its my shops name and logo...I took an art class at night to learn how to sand cast....
Very cool. Thanks for the info and the site to look it all up. How long does it take you to get those on the site? Out of curiosity.
Ontario, Canada or Ontario, CA? I actually have photos of two different Hell Bounders plaques on the No City Shown page ..... and At the Rat Rod show here in Feb, this amazing diesel powered sedan came in on the back of a Diamond T truck and was followed by a chopped Hudson sedan with NV plates and the Model A (?) in the background of this photo I took ..... I never saw anyone who looked like they belonged to these vehicles so I never got the chance to ask where they were from. It usually only takes me a day or so to get photos uploaded to our site. I'm going to be away from my computer for a few days so I'll add your club to the locations you mentioned when I return. Is that other Hell Bounders plaque for the same club as yours?
Are you saying the olive drab "Roadster Pickup" in the background is actually a Chevy Sedan? That car and the Hudson had your club's plaque on them.
Here is the car and plaque that I had in high school and was a member of the Decatur Timing Association
Anyone out there ever find a DUSTERS plaque? The club was located in Arlington, VA in the early 1960's. I would love to hang one on my '51. O'Brians doesn't have one in there stock.
Do you know if it had "Arlington" on it? I have these examples of Dusters plaques without a location on our website ..... Any additonal info you can provide about what the plaque had on it could help locate one.
I'm not a member, just saw one of the Stray Kat Kustom cars at Viva this year. So I snagged this pic.
So much Plaques ..I had too see my Dentist http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=474451
Plaque did have Arlington, Virginia or VA at the bottom. If I remember right the DUSTERS lettering was similiar to the center plaque and it had a custom car side profile, it might have looked like a early 50's Chevy coupe, chopped and lowered. Thanks for your help.
