I'm am finishing up all my sub rail fab so I can start mounting the body, and need a measurement.

    1930 Model A Sedan

I need the cross measurement from the front driver side body to sub rail mount furthest forward to the firewall, located under the toe board back to the passenger side rear body to sub rail mount. I need a cross measurement to ensure that what I have is correct, and to make sure the sub rail, and body are square from front to back.

I would love if I could get 4 or more reply's so I can be positive of the measurements.

    thank you

It's a frame, or a chassis frame. A subframe is a small frame that mounts either front or rear suspension, and itself bolts onto a chassis frame or, more usually, a unibody. The original Mini is a good example of a unibody car with front and rear subframes.

But be that as it may. Here's a good source. There should be enough there to calculate your diagonals using Pythagoras or trig.

The Wescotts site also has drawings of T, '32, and '33-on frames. Really useful.

Correction, sub rails for the floor,
had my head up my rear:eek:

The rear sub rail goes back of the frame, or "hangs off" the back edge of the frame

Take a look at the Wescotts site. I think they have some info on body rails there, IIRC.

if 28-29 are the same as 30..I can get that for ya tonight..
I will see how this goes, and if you end up "no score" I will post up my dimensions when i get home.
Not safe to assume they are the same, but i would think they are, due to the fact that the frames they bolt onto are the same as far as that attachment point.

just got home..im heading out there now;)

I think i can get close.
Mind you, mine is an AR body (so pre 28) but still the same measurements as a 28-29

ok i marked mine at or near the same place you have yours and mine came out to 90" for both sides (square)
    Hope that helps.
im sure if your dimensions are square, and your cross rails are all in square and even side for side, you should be good

    whats your tape mesure saying?

I had 91 7/16", it seemed too long
90" makes more sense when I lay a quarter panel up.

I'll fiddle with it and see what I come up with

    thanks Von Rigg

Anyone else with some 30-31 sedan measurements?

Thank you, however chassis dimensions don't help as the sub rails go past the chassis/frame.

anyone with a 30/31 sedan have a tape measure, and 10 minutes?

    thanks
